THOMPSON TANK & MFG. CO., INC. does not attempt to specify any particular product. High-grade lubricants can be obtained from any reputable oil company.

manufacturer's

Only lubricants of the highest quality, having proper body and viscosity, and supplied by reputable manufacturers should be used. Using products of inferior quality may result in reduced service life or result in failure of components. IMPORTANT Never add lubricant unless it is the same make and grade as that already in use. If the make andjor grade is unknown or is not available, drain, flush, and refill with new lubricant. PUMPS Optimum operational

THOMPSON VACUUM-PRESSURE UNITS

AIR SYSTEM MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS Maintenance procedure should be performed one (1) week after new equipment is in operation and every 90 days thereafter. 1100/1101 FLOAT SHUT-OFF VALVE Inspect condition ot 1101-E Buna-N/Hypalon Valve Seat. A swollen, cracked or pitted Valve Seat will not make a positive seal resulting in material pullover, and must be replaced. Check 1101-E Valve Seat alignment by inserting a slip of paper (1/4" x 3") between the Valve Seat and 1100/11 01-A Valve Body, close the Float Shut-Off Valve manually using the 1101-H Lower Arm, exerting a slight pressure on the Valve Seat. It the paper is easiIy removed at any location under the Valve Seat, adjustment is required. ADJUSTMENTPROCEDURE A.

Adjust 1101-D Cone Point Set Screws until the spring loaded portion ot the 1101-B Pivot Assembly is compressed 50% of its adjustment.

B. Adjust 1101-G Upper Arm on the 1101-B Pivot Assembly Head Adjustment Bolts to center Valve Seat.

using the two (2) Hex

C. Valve Seat alignment should self adjust when centered. If not, replace Spacer Bushing. When the slip of paper is not easily removed at any location under the Seat Valve, it is properly aligned. NOTE: A positive seal between Valve Seat and Body is critical to prevent pullover. A small amount ot material pulled over every time the Float Valve does not operate properly is almost impossible to detect and over a period of time will do a lot of damage. Lubricate 1101-B Pivot Assembly

with NLG 1 & 2 multipurpose lithium grease.

Inspect 1101-J Float Bal! tor leaks or accumulation ot liquid and replace as required. NOTE: Excessive accumulation ot material in 1107 Vacuum Scrubber or 1106 Liquid Entry Preventor is a prime indicator that the 1100/1101 Float Shut Off Valve is not operating properly. It left uncorrected, material will pullover, resulting in possible pump damage. 1106 UQUID ENTRV PREVENTOR 1.

Check 1103 Float Valve tor proper operation. Hypalon Valve Seat and 1103-G Float Bal!.

Inspect condition

of 1103-E Buna-N/

2.

Inspect 1106-B 12" Buna-N/Hypalon Cover Plate Gasket. NOTE: A deteriorated Gasket will result in loss ot vacuum.

3.

Lubricate 1106-J Drain Valve with ACF-105 grease. Drain on pressure only. Do not open on vacuum.
