SAT on Aug 27, Oct 2, Nov 5, and Dec 3; ACT on Sept 10, Oct 22, and Dec 10. JUST RECEIVED THIS EMAIL from a FORMER STUDENT/GRADUATING SENIOR and wanted to share it with you.

Dear Dr. Adams: How have you been? As school has ended and I have a free summer for what seems like the first time ever, I think I miss your SAT classes!

We haven’t spoken in a while, and I wanted to update you on my college decisions. I was accepted into 17 schools, including Georgetown University, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Davidson College, UF, and UC San Diego.

I have ultimately chosen to attend Georgetown University. I am incredibly excited and cannot wait to continue my educational journey in Washington, D.C.!

Thank you so much for all of your help throughout the entire SAT preparation process!

I am truly grateful for everything you have done to ensure my successful future.

Many of my students keep in touch to let me know how they are doing, and sometimes to seek advice as different college situations arise.

I always enjoy helping my students and their families to have their best possible futures … which include students doing their best on these exams. My families also receive my books and guides on How To Write College Application Essays Colleges Will Love, How To Negotiate With Colleges, Dream Colleges and Universities, How To Survive And Thrive As A Freshman At A Secular University, and Achieving And Maintaining Your Peak Mental Performance On The SAT, ACT, And In Life.

Particularly helpful for college admission is knowing that top colleges and universities are looking for “students who can help change the world,” which means they are not nearly as interested in “well rounded” students as in “LOPSIDED STUDENTS.” We always talk in detail about this because it can be a major factor in getting accepted to a “dream college”.

The month of July usually sees a rise in interest in preparing for the SAT Exam on the last Saturday in August, and the ACT Exam on the second Saturday of September.

RISING SENIORS are getting ready for these exams as part of their college applications. Most are due by Jan 1, except for UF which has a “stone cold” early Nov deadline. The first place an application can “standout” from the rest is with the College Application Essay, and the second place is when a student is “lopsided” rather than “well rounded”. Advice and help on these two, critical areas are already included in my classes.

For a much higher chance of acceptance, I advise seniors to go for “early decision” or “early acceptance” because the probability of acceptance is usually 2 - 3 times higher than for regular admissions.

RISING JUNIORS often want to have an idea of their scoring levels, and to be prepared for the PSAT in mid-October … which is the only qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarships.

RISING SOPHOMORES

are getting ahead by gaining experience taking these exams and assessing where they are with scoring.

Also, many public and private high schools periodically give the SAT to “track” students, meaning to see at what level they are capable of scoring academically which means what level of classes they can take.

ticking time bomb.

Are you aware that heavy rain and one strong gust of wind can potentially topple a diseased tree onto your roof or worse, a neighbor’s and cause hundreds, even thousands of dollars of damage?

It doesn’t have to end that way.

The time to prepare is now. When you take the steps you need to make your home secure, don’t forget this one crucial element that is often overlooked and can cause damage to your home. The solution is not always the removal of trees but taking proper preventative care of them.

In Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough counties, certified local arborist and Allpro Tree & Landscaping owner Pete Spiridis and his professional team of experts know how to care for your tree before it becomes a severe and dangerous issue. Pruning a tree is done for aesthetic reasons, but it also benefits the tree’s health. Removing damaged, diseased or broken limbs can prevent decay that can compromise structural integrity.

Allpro Tree & Landscaping is prepared to help you during the 2022 Hurricane Season. The Saffir-Simpson Hurricane wind scale explains the potential damage to your trees from a hurricane, particularly improperly pruned trees. Using a rating system of 1 – 5, it warns that, at 74 to 95 mph, even a category one hurricane can cause damage.

Large branches of trees can snap, and shallowly rooted trees may be toppled, possibly causing extensive damage to power lines, creating outages that can last several days. Downed trees can block roads, delaying the response time for emergency crews.

“Trees in urban areas of Tampa Bay endure especially brutal stimuli. Some trees do not have the genetic predisposition to deal with these forces. Most trees that fail during the hurricane seasons are improperly pruned trees,” said Pete.

At Allpro Tree & Landscaping, the arborists’ custom-tailor solutions promote the health of your unique trees and landscapes. Pete and his professional team of experts will gladly and affordably manage your tree or landscaping problem.

If you loathe yard work but love a beautifully landscaped lawn, Allpro offers comprehensive yard clean-up using specialized tools and equipment. The company provides debris elimination, leaves, weeds, grass clippings removal, mulching, composting, and refuse and waste disposal.

Pete and the Allpro Tree & Landscaping experts design beautiful landscaping, trim all types of trees, grind and remove tree stumps, install and remove sod, place rock beds, lay mulch, and perform many

other landscaping services for residential and business properties.

Allpro Tree & Landscaping staff are highly creative designers who enjoy working with clients to create gorgeous landscape plans.

“Our goal is to build an aesthetically pleasing landscape that requires minimal maintenance and satisfies you in every possible way,” said Pete. “Allpro Tree & Landscaping has landscape design & installation down to a science. The result is always a stunning landscape that holds its beauty across posterity.”

If you are wondering if Allpro Tree & Landscaping lives up to its reputation of providing “the elite service that you deserve,” as its website promises, 51 positive Google reviews attest to the company’s professionalism.

“….We are so glad we called Allpro Tree & Landscaping because they really do live up to their name. Great job, guys. We would definitely recommend them to our neighbors and friends.”

“They were very professional and polite. They worked well with each and made sure not to damage anything. They also went out of their way to make sure I was happy with their job. I would highly recommend them.”

“QUALITY, Professional, Efficient, AND COMPLETELY SUPERB!”

National online home service guru Angi (formerly Angie’s List) was impressed enough to present Allpro Tree & Landscaping with its “Super Service Award.”

The Better Business Bureau, which analyzes and rates companies according to both the quality of the service they provide and the complaints received about them, awarded Allpro Tree & Landscaping its highest A+ rating. “We make every effort to stay within clients’ budget limits,” said Pete. “Furthermore, we get the job done with incredible speed. You won’t have to worry about our team dragging their feet and occupying your property longer than necessary. We strive to plan and build landscaping in as little time as possible to ensure that you are provided with landscape design & installation of the highest quality.”

Dr. Albert fell in love with dentistry at an early age. His exceptional experience as a teenage braces patient led him to his lifelong career. In practice since 2003, he uses his 19 years of experience to care for his orthodontic patients conveniently where they live, work and go to school. He makes them feel comfortable, knowing they are in the most capable, experienced hands possible for braces, expanders, and Invisalign.

In addition to the amazing smile transformations in his office daily, Dr. Albert also has various promotions, donations, and giveaways planned for his patients and community throughout the year. From annually supporting teachers’ classrooms and donating to local schools to patient appreciation giveaways with prizes including electronics, gift cards, and recently an Oculus Quest 2 system, there is always something going on at Albert Family Orthodontics. This summer, their annual ‘Summer of Music and Smiles’ promotion will allow lucky winners to see Luke Bryan or The Weeknd live in a concert in Tampa.

When it comes to orthodontics, teens like the fun-colored bands that can accompany the classic silver and clear braces, and adults tend to gravitate to Invisalign because of the convenience and minimal intrusiveness in their lifestyle. Dr. Albert notes that some young people do choose Invisalign for their comfort and versatility for their active lifestyles. While some do-it-yourself products are available online, Dr. Albert has seen a significant increase in demand for consumers wanting professionally controlled and monitored treatment through Invisalign in his practice.

“I think most people know in their heart of hearts that the best treatment they can give themselves involves personally being seen by a doctor with experience and being monitored and helped throughout their treatment,” he said. “Invisalign has become very popular and is what most of our adult patients are treated with nowadays, with more and more teens deciding to do it as well over braces. For those unfamiliar, Invisalign is a series of clear trays that the patient wears for one week at a time, and we typically give them 12-16 trays each time they come in. They then progress through the trays in between the visits. We continually check them and ensure that they fit properly. Minimal movements with each aligner, but over the treatment time, it moves the teeth to where we want.”

Adding the Propel appliance to Invisalign treatment can reduce the length of treatment time by 30%. Propel applies a gentle vibration 5 minutes daily that helps increase the bone and tooth remodeling process, which speeds the rate at which teeth can be safely moved.

Albert Family Orthodontics treats children and adults, and new patient evaluations are always free of charge. Based on the recommendation by the American Association of Orthodontists, Dr. Albert suggests initial orthodontic evaluation should occur at the first sign of orthodontic problems or no later than age 7. Orthodontic treatment may not always be necessary at this early age but helps determine the best time to begin treatment and is complimentary.

The first consultation visit includes a thorough exam, a complimentary panoramic x-ray, and a discussion of potential treatment options and costs. Along with a low initial down payment, Albert Family Orthodontics offers no-interest, in-house financing, Care Credit, and accepts most insurance that includes orthodontics.

Dr. Albert is proud to offer the most advanced technology at Albert Family Orthodontics to help his patients see a replica of their teeth in a three-dimensional view. Digital scanning replaces antiquated tray impressions or molds of teeth.

Instead of the traditional physical dental impressions, which can be a potential contaminant and uncomfortable for patients, the iTero intraoral digital scanner scans a patient’s mouth to create a 3D digital model for braces, Invisalign, expanders, and diagnostic study models. Not only does the 3-D scan show the current structure of the teeth, but it can also produce a simulated outcome of what their teeth will look like after the completion of the expected treatment plan.

Dr. Albert has treated many orthodontic cases that initially present similar, but he knows that no two patients’ treatment is precisely the same. Treatment time varies per each patient’s specific orthodontic problem, but generally, it ranges from 6

to 24 months. A person’s average time in braces or Invisalign is approximately 15 months.

After an unprecedented last couple of years with the Covid-19 pandemic, inflation, supply chain issues, and staffing challenges, Dr. Albert is very appreciative that his orthodontic practice has continued to thrive and gladly supports his community’s schools, and youth sports teams and bands, and charities.

“One of the unique strengths of a well-oriented orthodontic practice has always been its ability to become part of its community in a beautiful and enjoyable partnership,” Dr. Albert said. “Individuals and families trust us with their orthodontic care and continue to support us, and our office is able to support the community around us through sponsorships and donations. And after almost twenty years in practice, I still feel honored with every patient who chooses to seek orthodontic care with our team. With every patient, I look forward to helping them improve their smile and working toward a result that I know they will be thrilled as well.”
