Fox Valley youth donate $25,000 to valley social services

22 students from seven Fox Valley high schools spent a year fundraising for 10 local non-profit agencies. The students were members of the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley’s (CFFRV) Youth Engagement in Philanthropy (YEP) program. Meeting throughout the past school year, primarily over Zoom, the students worked in teams to research and evaluate the grant applications submitted by Fox Valley youth service organizations. Funds were raised on Giving Tuesday last November with #BeTheGood and other events including an in restaurant fundraiser at a local Chipotle. The students also coordinated a variety of hands-on community service projects during the year including a gently used children’s shoe drive for Mutual Ground. The CFFRV created the YEP program to help local high school students learn more about fundraising, grant making and making a difference in the community. Visit cffrv.org to learn how you can help.
