24 countries hub / NEWSLETTER Year 2011 / Issue # 1
YES BABY, WE ARE HERE TO STAY :) After a much needed time off during holiday season, it's back to work for us! We certainly
wish you a very happy new year and we hope that you all had
some time to relax with family and friends! We had a semi-time off, we were present at many events, but nonetheless, we are well rested and filled with energy and inspiration to continue our 10:10 journey! Some may have had doubts whether 10:10 will continue in 2011, but, hey – we do not stop eating, or travelling, or producing waste just because it's a different year – so, we shouldn't stop reducing carbon, either. 10:10 & our carbon cutting efforts continue, and we do hope you'll stick around!
THE SECOND SEMESTER
The end of December 2010 marked also the end of the first six months for us as a 10:10 hub. We loved every minute of those first six months, we learned a lot, and we met truly great people at 10:10 events in Krapina (Croatia), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Belgrade (Serbia) , Lefkosia (Cyprus), Fojnica (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and at all the other great places in all 24 countries during 10:10:10 week!
What will happen in the second semester? We continue our efforts to include even more individuals, businesses, schools and organizations, help them cut carbon, and tell you their stories and case studies.
We will travel more, visit more towns and countries, present first hand our ideas and accomplishments. We will also be present 24/7 on social networks on the internet, using guerilla marketing in hope to become viral. In days and weeks to come we will present to you in more details where you can find us on the web, and you can then choose what works best for you, where you'd like to follow us, and where you'd like to interact with us. Right now, if you haven't already, do join us on our Facebook pages:

Follow us on Twitter as well – twitter.com/1010hub
Both on Facebook and on Twitter we'll have daily posts, bring you news from around the globe regarding climate change, carbon reduction, environment and all related topics. We will let you know how other 10:10ners are cutting carbon, what you can do to reduce your carbon footprint, what is the latest on our projects and events, and what are our plans.
Our target? To educate you, to inspire you, to connect with you, and to share with you. Join us today, and don't miss anything! It is going to be an exciting year!
LET'S COME TOGETHER!
We will not be alone – we have managed to assemble a team of over thirty volunteers helping us with our work in 24 countries.
They will donating their time – hours and days – as much as they can – to help us spread 10:10 ideas and connect with more people. Most of the volunteers are pupils and students from schools and universities we are already working with, and we are so happy to have them all on board!
Still, considering that we do operate in 24 countries with almost half a billion people on three continents – we need all hands on deck – so, if you'd like to donate few hours of your time, let us know – cee@1010global.org
THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM
The biggest struggle we've had last semester was funding. We were ignored by many, yet we didn't give up. We were barely covering the cost for 10:10 materials, we received no salaries or any other kind of compensation and we funded travel expenses from our own pocket. As much as we are dedicated to our work and carbon reduction – we do hope that things will turn around in a positive way this year.
We will present you our projects this week, and we'll be also presenting the information how you can sponsor a project or an event, or how you can make donation to our hub. Every little counts, and we thank you in advance.
Off we go! Best of luck, have a great week everyone, and don't forget to cut carbon!
Yours truly
10:10 hub team
