Brothers, thank you for electing me to serve Nellis Lodge again as its Master. It is a very great honor to preside over the 50th Anniversary Year of the founding of our Lodge. We are extremely fortunate that our Charter Master, W. Al Schouten PM (Vegas 32, 1959-Nellis 46, 1963) is still attending meetings and participating in degree work. This 50th Anniversary is dedicated to his service to our Lodge. This year will also be a development year for our Officer Corp. There will be new opportunities for the Officers to receive and participate in education programs, Lodge operational meetings, the Degrees and hopefully this will help all of them to develop into the leaders this lodge will need for the future.
Jeff Byrne Worshipful Master 2013
We will also return to some of the Meetings that have been neglected over the past few years, Pot Luck Dinners where friends and family can attend, Widows Night, to honor the wives of our members who have passed on and in, 50 Year Masons Night, Past Masters Night and the favorite of most members of the Fraternity, The Knife and Fork Degree. Nellis will have a special night on Tuesday April 30th; we will be having an Anniversary Dinner to, celebrate the 50 years of Nellis Lodge. The location and times will be in next month’s trestle board. Please set this date aside for this special event! The Grand Masters visit is one of the most anticipated meetings of the year, MW. Richard M.”Mike” Hoaglin GM of Masons in Nevada will visit us on our very first meeting of the year on January 8th. This will be our Stated Meeting; as such business and committee reports will be limited or postponed to February. We will be doing one thing special before the GM delivers his message:
I hereby Summons all Past Masters of Nellis Lodge 46, health, business and jurisdiction permitting, to be present for a “Call of the Roll of Master Workmen” at the Stated Meeting on January 8 th, 2013. Please call me to be excused. Sincerely and Fraternally Jeff 5
Brethren, I would first like to thank you for giving me the honor to serve as your Senior Warden for the New Year. I am looking forward in working with all the officers of the lodge. I am looking forward to a fun and prosperous Fireworks Booth this year. Although, as we all know it is hard work, it is also a time to come together as brothers to help our Lodge and honor our country. I will appreciate as many brothers to volunteer this coming year. I will get sign-up sheets out in a few months.
Senior Warden Harold Scalzo, Jr.
I am also looking forward to our baseball night tradition and hope you will all enjoy the game and maybe a few brews. It is a great time for fellowship and for a family night. If you have any suggestions or ideas for a fund rising, please let me know. I believe that it is important for us all to work and play together. I hope you and your family had a great Christmas and New Years and look forward to seeing you at the Lodge. Let’s have a fun and good year! Fraternity Harold Scalzo Jr. Senior Warden
