JUNE
My Brothers, soon we will go dark for the summer months. Although we may not be present in “Lodge” we still carry our obligations with us wherever we travel. There is much work to accomplish in our time of “darkness”. While traditionally this time was set aside for farmers to tend to their fields or for Lodge members to go on vacation, we have an opportunity to continue our “labor”. You might ask yourself, “What can I do to help my Lodge this summer”? We have work to do in renovating the Lodge; chances to promote our Lodge in our community and opportunities to improve ourselves through Masonic education. This is not the time to close the door of our Lodge and walk away for the next few months. Through our continued Lodge renovations we make the Lodge more attractive to prospective members. We need new members to carry on the work of this Lodge. My greatest hope is that there will always be new members to carry on the work of our departing Brothers. Whatever we can do, within the code of Masonry, to attract new members we must do. However we also have to remember, it is Quality, not Quantity! To achieve any of our goals we must be financially stable and be able to weather tough economic conditions. Remember, the path of fellowship travels both ways. Do not be afraid to ask a Brother for help when a problem needs to be resolved or an issue needs to be addressed. Brotherly love and charity is more than a hollow phrase in our Lodge. We have made much progress this year in many areas, yet we have much to accomplish. The good news for our Lodge is that we have a very talented and committed line of officers, especially in our Senior Warden. I have the utmost confidence in his ability to lead this Lodge well into the future. "Empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that." — Norman Vincent Peale, American minister and Freemason. Bro. Miguel Zavala WM

Brother's I highly encourage you bring any of the EA's and FC's that you are instructing. It is vital they become involved with our extra curricular activities early on. I fraternally and sincerely ask that each Brother carve out time for at least one shift. Your time is much appreciated and I am looking forward to seeing great participation this year.

There are two subjects which I wish to communicate with you on. The 2015 Fireworks Fundraiser (of course!) and the 2016 Line of Officers. It may seem like the Booth is far away but by the time you receive this it will be a matter of days. For those of you who have participated in this before you know it is slow (until July 4th) but really great fellowship and brotherhood.
On the subject of next year's Line I want to share with all the potential officers that it would behoove you to share your intentions with me privately. Please don't assume. Life situations change quickly and a Brother who was planning on moving up may be unable to participate in the ensuing year and so it's best that you communicate your goals within the Line. I look forward to speaking with each of you in turn! Fraternally and Sincerely, Dennis G. Tyson
M
ost of us would agree that communications is
more of an art than a science. As darkness is the absence of light, a misunderstanding can translate to darkness in our spirits. Many of us have to deal with stress in our lives, either at work or at home. Stress that can, if not heeded translate to a negative outward manifestation. We should try if we can, to see this in a brother, or in ourselves and adjust our spirits accordingly, so we can help with a lighter spirit, get our brother over the top. Just as a particle or wave of energy can bring light, a good feeling can help a brother when he is down. Masonry has always been and will always be, full of good and kind people who are willing to go the extra mile for each other. As we move towards the summer break, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the brothers who have helped make our culinary experiences better this year. A large thanks is in order to Jim Dorf who has supplied the lodge with utensils, plates napkins and water, also Bill Robinson for his donations making ice cream a regular event, and PM John Messana for supplying large quantities of great food for everybody. Let's not forget Daniel Partridge and the Stewards who go shopping, and show up early so they can cook, and set up lodge for our meetings. Fraternally
Travis
