Waterfront villa Design B2 Design Program: Villa

The concept of this villa was drawn from casting regular geometry objects into plaster. The way we shaped different objects, when an object is scasted into another object, the shape of the original object maybe destroyed, so the intent of this design is trying to keep the original objects integrated. The plaster molds were then sketched and lines were extracted from the sketches.

The villa floats on water and is an expression of the danamic relationship between water and land. To visually represent this idea, the villa is floating just on the sea level and the sea water flows into our pavilion and is then pumped back out. When we walk in the villa, we will go through the process like outdoor to semi-indoor, indoor and semi-outdoor, ourdoor, leading people to the water slowly.

Historical Cultural Center Design B3 Design Program: Museum

This complex is home to artists that live around the En'ning historical community. The complex consists of two exhibition galleries, and a Cantonese opera studios, two multifunctional entertainment halls for the old people and several offices. In order to make the design coordinated with the environment, the building is not composed of a large volume, but is segmentated into 6 small volumn.

Low-carbon Energy Saving B3 Design

The purpose of this design is to raise awareness of building energy efficiency. I try to use some technical measures to reduce the building's energy consumption.

Use control line to design each facade of the building, while considering energy-saving at the same time. Minimize unnecessary decoration to the building, less is more.

The building is a case of energy saving by using some technical measures, such as, under the premise to meet the the requirements of the interior lighting, minimizing the windows area of the south facade, which can stop the excessive heat getting into the building in summer. And the buildings can stop the heat running out of the building by using some special wall metierals. No excessively wasting of energy, that is energy saving.

Location: Hulun Buir City, Inner Mongolia, China The idea comes from the speculation of how do people behave in a space where there is so many histrical buildings around it. While people walking around the Tian' square, generally, they will visit the mid-east railway club, the Russian style street, and the church around it, so they box was seperated into four small pieces, and the final shape was formed.
