ENTRY TO THE SITE
Design consideration with respect to site: The overall structure is placed on the site in such a way that the view of the sea is unobstructed from all the major living spaces. Thus the south side of the villa is facing the sea view. The use of the natural slope is taken into consideration and thus the villa merges with the natural landscape surronded by the side.

SUN PATH
Site zining has been divided into three parts the academic block, hostel block and the parking zone. The academic block has been placed in the centre so to get it the green area on the both sides.
The academic block oreintation has been such placed so as to keep the major areas away from the E-W harsh sunlight sun. The sides were tilted towards the north side so as to get glare free light to the most of the areas seeking more natural light. As well the tilt provided space construction yard and multipurpose hall
The road network designed inside the building became one of the reasons of the hostel’s form. The circulation system in the academic block has been derived by meeting the centre points of the circle which provided with the minimum distance to travel from one point in the academic to the other
The road network , solar path became one of the main resons of the derived fromj 12

DOCUMENTATION: THE SHAHI MAQBARARS Project type- 6th Semester documentation project Location- Malerkotla, Punjab , India
The final resting Place of the Nawabs of Malerkotla also called “The Shahi Maqbaras” lie just behind the Sirhindi Gate in Malerkotla. The grave of the famous and secular ruler Nawab Sher Mohomaaad Khan lays here who had a significant role to play in the Sikh History and also the history of Malerkotla. HISTORY: Malerkotla, popularly labelled as an “Island of Peace”, is located in North Indian state of Punjab in the district of Sangrur, just south of Ludhiana and to the west of Patiala. After the Partition of India in 1947, Malerkotla became the only Muslim majority town in Punjab. The town’s peaceful nature is attributed to three key events that stand out in Malerkotla’s history: the foundation of the settlement by the Sufi saint Haider Shaykh in 15th century, the blessing from Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh in 18th century and the peace during Partition in 1947. These watershed moments also led to the shaping of Malerkotla’s history and the character of the town today.
The original site of Shahi Maqbaras had a fairly wide ‘foreground’ separating the complex from the main road and securing its sanctity, but the deteriorating economic condition of the state (especially after the formation of PEPSU) compelled Nawab Iftikhar Ali Kahn (the last Nawab of Malerkotla) to sell off the area abutting the main road for commercial use thereby leaving only a 3.6 meters narrow and inconspicuous entrance to the complex. The haphazardly built row of shops built on this strip of land and the clutter of their signboards now almost completely veils the view of this magnificent complex from the main road, making it difficult for visitors to locate even the signboard that announces its presence.
Page-16
The mausoleum erected on the extreme right of the tomb complex belongs to nawab sikandar ali khan (1857 - 1871), with its north (main entrance) facing the boundary wall and adjacent tombs erected on its south. The architectural style can be said as a synthesis of Persian and Indian.
Thank you.
