CHASITY MOORE Chasity Moore is returning to Northeast Mississippi Community College with the objective of helping to increase the level of spirit among its already passionate fans. Moore, who has nearly a decade of experience teaching advanced tumbling and stunts, was selected as the new head coach of the Tiger cheerleading squad beginning with the 2015-16 academic year. She joins the Tigers from Tishomingo County High School, where she trained three Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) state championship teams over a five-year period.

Moore was initially indoctrinated into the sport while attending Belmont High School. She earned a spot with the Cardinals during each of her four years and twice received All-American honors from the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA).

She continued her career at Northeast as a Tiger Dancer and pom squad member. Moore took center stage with the Showband from Tigerland for pregame and halftime performances at football contests plus select events such as area Christmas parades.

Moore also served as an assistant in the recruitment office during her time as an undergrad at Northeast and aided in campus tours and special events for prospective students.

The Belmont native began her professional career in 2004 as a family and consumer science educator at Tishomingo County. She taught a variety of classes including nutrition and wellness and comprehensive health.

Moore spent the next nine seasons with the Braves alongside fellow instructor Beth James and immediately led them to great successes. Tishomingo County placed among the top three squads in the MHSAA non-tumble Class 4A-6A competition in each of the last eight years.

The Braves edged Cleveland High School for their inaugural state title in 2010 at the historic Mississippi Coliseum. Tishomingo County returned to Hill Country from Jackson as champions twice more in 2012 and 2014 during Moore’s tenure.

She guided the Braves to prosperity on the national stage as well. Tishomingo County won the 2013 Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Mid-South Regional and finished second at the same event one season later.

Moore and the Braves traveled to Orlando, Fla., to participate in the 2015 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship at the Walt Disney World Resort and ranked an outstanding seventeenth in the medium varsity non-tumble division.

Moore is a member of the Mississippi Association of Coaches (MAC) and is safety certified nationally by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA).

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in family studies education from the Mississippi University for Women and also completed a Master’s degree in food science, nutrition and health promotions at Mississippi State University.

Moore is happily married to her husband Kirk and the couple has one son, Jackson.
