ARCHITECTURE AT ALTOPASCIO
Altopascio (LU)

The project lot is located in the southern outskirts of the Municipality of Altopascio (LU). In the project macro area, a multidisciplinary school complex and a residential area are planned, all completed by a park with paths for sports and wellness, as well as ample parking to cover all the needs of the pole.

Specifically, the school complex will consist of 6 buildings, 4 for school (nursery school, nursery school, primary school, lower secondary school), one for the gym and one for the common table. Each building will be clad in colored Uglas as visible in the render, except for the gym which will be made of face-to-face concrete. As for the residential area, on the ground floor, a commercial use destination has been planned for the whole complex, while on the upper floors there are apartments ranging from the studio to the pentalocale, as well as two duplexes in the bridge part. a total of 18 units. In the basement we can find parking spaces and garages in order to meet the needs of the whole complex.

MODEXPO MMXX Firenze (FI)
The project involves the construction of an exhibition pavilion for Burberry in the context of Modexpo 2020, in the suburbs of Florence. The fluid form of the pavilion arises from a generative process formed by the fall of a drop of water on the ground; concept deriving from Burberry’s most famous clothing item, the waterproof jacket. The pavilion will consist of two structures, connected underground by a tunnel that acts as an exhibition gallery and illuminated by solar tunnels. Inside, on the other hand, it will be possible to find a fashion area with its backstage, two large exhibition areas, one for temporary exhibitions and a permanent one, a dedicated shop and a refreshment area with its loft where you can see the fashion shows. RUSSIAN CHARACTER Butovo, Mosca (RU)

The project area is located in Butovo, a district south of Moscow. In particular, it is located in an area composed mainly of residential buildings about 70 meters high. The cultural center is spread over three buildings, all arranged with entrance on a main square. Inside the main building we can find a hall, a museum and 3 auditoriums, modular to reach up to 650 people. In the other 2 buildings we can find a series of functions ranging from the library with related study rooms, to a gym and fitness room, to a mini-hotel and a kindergarten. The cladding of the two buildings is in wooden slats, while the main building remains in exposed concrete.

PIOMBINO URBAN REGENERATION Piombino (LI)

The thesis area is located in the center of Piombino, and more precisely it includes the areas currently occupied by the Campiglia Marittima-Piombino railway line, its homonymous station, and the area where the Magona stadium is located. The project involves the demolition of the current railway line with the consequent urban reorganization of the territory and road re-linking between the north and south part of the country. An underpass will be built which will connect Viale Regina Margherita and via Flemalle and another between via Carlo Pisacane and via Cesare Lombroso in order to guarantee a correct road flow and at the same time to pedestrianize the area above. The construction of an urban park will be planned in the area affected by the current railway tracks with equipment for sports and for children’s games. The current station, subject to constraint, will be redeveloped and used as a bar / restaurant on the ground floor, while the upper floor will be used as a library.

In via Gori it is planned the construction of a receptive structure able to accommodate a maximum of 66 people in 16 rooms on the first and second floor, while on the ground floor it will be used exclusively for commercial funds. In the same complex we can find 6 apartments (4 three-room apartments and 2 studios) to be used as temporary residences. As for via Salgari, the construction of a tower-type residential building will be planned, containing 36 apartments with cuts ranging from studios to duplexes, for a total number of floors above ground level of 19, arranged on 4 standard floors. On the ground floor also here will be intended for commercial, where we can find funds for shops and a bar. This complex will also be provided with parking spaces, located in the basement, for a total of 2 for each housing unit.

ARCHEOLOGIC PARK OF GONFIENTI Prato (PO)

The project area is located in the Municipality of Prato, inside the plain of Gonfienti, more precisely located both in the north and in the south part of via Cellerese, on the edge of the Central Tuscany Interport area. The project consists in the construction of an archaeological park with paths for visitors and related parking for both bus and car, as well as a building to be used as a service center, with functions ranging from the museum area to educational workshops, including various classrooms for study and cataloging of the finds. In addition, two cases will be made to preserve the Etruscan ruins located within them.
2_PROJECTS The Etruscan center of Gonfienti, today divided between the Municipalities of Prato and Campi Bisenzio, rises in an area between the river Bisenzio, the torrent Marinella and the foot of the relief of Calvana, from where both the bronze of British bidder come Museum of London, both the votive bronze statue of the Florence Museum. The archaeological investigations carried out so far have brought to light orthogonal road axes and living areas drained by deep perimeter channels, which seem to be made in modular and organized forms as in the Etruscan city of Marzabotto and in archaic Rome. The design concept starts from a first placement of the paths and buildings along the original Etruscan mesh found during excavations by archaeologists. The buildings containing the ruins rise on them while the service center has been thought of as a block inserted inside an artificial hill leaning against a long wall, which is specularly oriented to the same angle that the original Etruscan mesh forms with the gora of the Cherry tree that crosses the project area. The idea is that the visitor who came to the site sees a single large object and can not understand the real spatial dimensions of the same as hidden within the same hill, which extends for hundreds of meters and is high in the maximum point as the same building. As for the buildings containing the ruins, however, they were thought of as “blocks� visually and pedestrianally connected to each other.

LE PAGLIERE: ARCHITECTURAL RENOVATION Firenze (FI)

The Fabbrica delle Scuderie Reali complex is located inside the Royal Stables Garden complex and constitutes the large green area between the Boboli garden and Porta Romana, inside which there are the Scuderie and Pagliere buildings. The project for the recovery of the complex involves the reconversion of the same in a building destined to a function that is still absent within the Florentine urban fabric, that is to say the new center for the contemporary arts. Specifically, this intervention will be enriched by areas dedicated to the permanent exhibition of the history of places, rooms for meetings and conferences, spaces for small performances such as dance and theater, offices and services, all in full respect of the existing shell, both from the point of constructive view, that from the formal one.

KIPISLAND AUDITORIUM Kipsala, Riga (LV)

The project area is located in the central area of ​​the island of Kipsala, just above the university complex and just north of the two Z-towers and the Swedbank skyscraper. Currently occupied by the Riga exhibition center and composed of 3 buildings of different ages of connected construction, the project proposal object of the competition, intends to redevelop the area, creating a new cultural and exhibition center, in view also of the Green Expo that will be held in Riga in 2020; making it also a sociocultural reference point for the city and the island of Kipsala for the future. The project involves the urban reorganization of the area, allocating part of it to car parks, a part with green facilities, the demolition of 2 out of 3 of the current volumes of the exhibition center, and the creation of a new volume built next to the current one.

The 1x1 workshop is a competition of ideas on the design of a church in a suburb of the city of Prato. This project, unlike the Catholic canons, places the church below ground level, but at the same time places the “search for light� as a design concept, raising the part behind the altar up to 12 meters above ground thus allowing to illuminate it and create a particularly evocative effect.
