When does something become a monument? What if the way we look at something makes us believe that element is a monument? Perhaps, having the space to witness a monument is what makes it somehow more valuable. This concept is based on the following analysis developed throughout the canals of Ghent, concluding on that the canals are on one hand, the guide that takes the spectator from one historical monument to another, and on the other hand, the space we need to see these monuments in full size. This train of thought leads me to believe that the canal is the monument itself. That is the reason for designing the InterBeton Park, a park meant to gather around the newly named monument, the canal.

programme Gernika-Lumo is painfully divided by the train tracks, the river and the highway. At the outskirts of town we suddenly find peace with the river and the forest, this location is optimal for this project; a hostal and a rowing club.

programme 1. ZInE. Audiovisual cultural center Having analized the scarcity of cultural spaces in the city, Zorrozaurre island is the perfect location to reuse old and abandoned factories to create contemporary cultural spaces. This proposal in particular is a cultural centre specilized in visual arts, such as cinema and photography 2. P6. Artist residence Next to ZInE, a different old factory is transformed into an artist residence for the guest incoming to study or develop their artistic pieces to the cultural center

expo
the exposition venue also takes full height so that technical manipulation is allowed from the higher level. The rotatory panels make the surface to show the art pieces
entrance
the exposition venue is meant to provide a slower visitor-traffic at the moment of entering the building, for that, this gallery shows the projects developed in the cultural center
