Angklung museum | “The Sound Of Natures location type
jalan Asia Afrika, Balonggede, Bandung, Indonesia Symbolic Building | Architecture Studio V - 2016
ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO | 5
Angklung is one of the original musical instrument of West Java which in the development of traditional music scene abroad, claimed as one of the typical musical instruments of Malaysia. This is due to the lack of knowledge and sense of belonging to the native culture of Sunda-West Java. With the existence of angklung museum can be used as a container to provide education and a sense of belonging to the culture and art of the original / typical West Java.
The main square of Bandung's Raya mosque becomes the main hierarchy of the area and the center of community and tourist activities. So that becomes the main axis of the laying of building mass
The symbolic concept of building and landscape is interpreted based on the original folklore of West Java Dewi Sri Pohaci and traditional ceremony Seren taun.

Backgrounds About Angklung
Visions of development
Patenting angklung
ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO | 7
In an eort to show to other nations, especially Asia, that Angklung is a musical instrument typical of West Java Indonesia.
The Angklung is music intrumen made of two bamboo tubes attached to a bamboo frame. The tubes are car ved to have a resonant pitch when struck and area turned to octaves. The base of the frame is held in one hand, whilst the other hand strucks the instrument. This causes a repeating note to sound. Each of three or more, but altogether complete melodies are produced. The angklung is popular throughout Southeast Asia, but it originated in today’s Indonesia and has been played by the Sundanese for many centuries.
Preserve cultures Angklung museum is a place to showcase and preserve the culture and art of typical West Java. So that the museum can be a new cultural tourism alternative in the city of Bandung in one of the city center.
Cultural education To enhance the sense of love and belonging to the Sundanese culture, the education is done by applying the symbolic concept of culture and art to the concept of space, building and landscape in the form of an interesting cultural tourism that can be enjoyed by tourists and society.
origin of Angklung the figure of the goddess of prosperity Dewi Sri Pohaci is the goddess of prosperity, which descends from the sky and gives prosperity in the form of rain so that people can harvest the rice. The figure of the goddess of prosperity is symbolized by the tower of the museum building that lay down as a symbol of prosperity. The height of the tower symbolizes the great nature of the goddess of Prosperity, Dewi Sri Pohaci.
traditional ceremony of SEREN TAUN Traditional ceremony Seren taun is a ceremony as a symbol of the blessing of his downfall Dewi Sri Pohaci to Earth to give prosperity. Angklung musical instrument first played at seren taun ceremony, with a series of rituals interpreted on the concept of landscape flow in the region.

Tourism Batu City is growing very rapidly due to natural conditions and climate, as well as its strategic territory. But Batu city tourism development lost its character because it is dominated by thematic and artiďŹ cial tourism which is not appropriate by the tourism vision of Batu City that is tourism based on agro and civil society. So it needs an effort in the development of agro tourism by developing agro-based tourism in accordance with the vision of the city of Batu and improve the economy so that the Batu farms are no longer pressed by thematic and artiďŹ cial tourism.
The absence of the participation of urban designers and practitioners has caused the village of Kungkuk tourism to be less desirable because it lacks the local architecture that becomes the character as a tourist village.
Conducting research to 100 respondents Tourist Village Kungkuk to be able to determine the determinants in the arrangement of Tourism Village character.
