Welcome! The Laconia Daily Sun is thrilled to bring you the fifth annual edition of Best of the Lakes Region. This magazine showcases and celebrates the businesses, people, and places the Lakes Region loves most — as voted by you.

A little behind-the-scenes – You nominated over 1,300 businesses, organizations, and individuals to compete for the top two spots in Best of the Lakes Region. In the end, there were more than 281,000 votes by you in 204 categories. That’s a fantastic response in our fifth year and a testament to how customers, fans, and friends feel about their local favorites and their pride in the Lakes Region.

The top ten categories represented 20% of the votes this year. In ranking order, they were Customer Service, Lunch Spot, All-Around Restaurant, Place to Work, Deli, Heating Service, Oil/Propane Dealer, Nonprofit Organization, Air Conditioning Service and Place to Buy a Gift.

Naturally, this program would not have been possible without the dedicated Laconia Daily Sun staff and committed area businesses who built this chance to salute and highlight favorites.
