We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, therefore we have put together this resource of organisations that you can reach out to for help, if you need to talk to someone or need additional support. AWARE NI Aware NI runs both in-person (COVID permitted) and online support groups for those with depression and bipolar disorder and for the carers of those with the illness. They have support groups across NI as well as a Support Email service. ACTION MENTAL HEALTH Action Mental Health offer counselling for free. They are currently only accepting referrals for online and telephone counselling. To apply for counselling, or for more information on their counselling services, click the following the link: https://www.amh.org.uk/new-life-counselling/ or call 028 9039 1630. THE RAINBOW PROJECT The Rainbow Project provide free counselling and support services for LGBT+ people in Derry and Belfast. To make an appointment, call their Belfast Office on number 02890319030 and ask to speak to one of the counsellors. INSPIRE Inspire work together with people living with mental ill health, intellectual disability, autism and addictions to ensure they live with dignity and realise their full potential. They deliver mental health, learning/intellectual disability, autism, addiction, workplace and student wellbeing services across the island of Ireland. CAMHS CAMHS stands for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. CAMHS is the name for the NHS services that assess and treat young people with emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties. Referred through your doctor. YOUTH LIFE Youth Life support for children and young people aged 5-25 who have been affected by bereavement, separation, divorce or loss of a significant person. CRISIS CAFE NI Crisis Café is a safe and welcoming place for young people who find themselves in crisis or need of mental health support. STOP.BREATHE.THINK Stop.Breathe.Think is a free and confidential mental health service where young people can talk or text about anything. For young people aged 21 and younger. If you're experiencing a mental health problem or supporting someone else, you can call SANEline on 0300 304 7000 (4.30pm–10.30pm every day). If you're in a crisis and don't want to speak on the phone, you can use the Shout textline, 24/7. Text Shout to 85258 If you're under 25, you can call The Mix on 0808 808 4994 (SundayFriday 2pm–11pm), request support by email using this form on The Mix website or use their crisis text messenger service. If you're a new or expectant parent who is struggling with their mental health, PANDAS offer a free support line from 11am-10pm. Call 0808 1961 776. If you're under 35 and experiencing suicidal feelings, or concerned about a young person who might be struggling, you can call Papyrus HOPELINEUK on 0800 068 4141 (weekdays 10am-10pm, weekends 2pm-10pm and bank holidays 2pm–10pm), email pat@papyrus-uk.org or text 07786 209 697. If you identify as male, you can call the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) on 0800 58 58 58 (5pm–midnight every day) or use their webchat service. Students can look on the Nightline website to see if your university or college offers a night-time listening service. Nightline phone operators are all students too.
