SILVER SCREENS SILVER SCREENS are a selection of movies aimed at an older audience. However, rather than a collection of classic films, this strand of the programme offers a range of films that feature older people as the main protagonists, as well as dealing with themes that an older audience can appreciate. DERRY SCREENS DERRY SCREENS does exactly what it says on the tin with a selection of interesting movies made in and about Derry - from fiction films to award-winning local documentaries.

Making Movies Using iPads
Animating Using iPads
Participants will explore film genres and movie-making on this 2 day course, using iPads to storyboard, shoot, edit and screen their own live-action movies. AGE: 13-17 years. COST: £6 for both days. Partipants will become movie moguls, making their own stop-motion animations in this two-day workshop. This special event features separate, but complimentary, workshops, and participants can choose to take part in one or more sessions, or in all three workshops for a more in-depth experience.

SCREENING & DISCUSSION This special screening of Macropolis will include an introduction by Joel Simon, the creative director at Flickerpix Animation Studios and a Q&A discussion. Macropolis is a seven minute animated film, and is the story of two toys that have been discarded from a factory assembly line because they have impairments. Coming to life and determined to re-join the other toys, they chase the factory delivery van but end up lost and alone in a big city. It’s new, strange and a little daunting. However, they explore, play and re-interpret the world through their unique perspective. In the end the allies make a discovery, which gives them a new lease on life and an edge over their friends.
