You will find exciting new trainings along with old favorites. These trainings will assist you in improving the quality of your program, and you will be provided with exciting ideas and resources. You will also be able to take trainings that meet OCFS and CDA requirements. CEUs are available in many of our trainings. For forty years, the Child Care Council of W estchester, Inc. has been THE professional development resource for the W estchester early care community. Our training team is highly experienced and skilled. They are eager to make your training experience meaningful and helpful in your work. More than 90% of participants give our trainings high approval ratings. The Councilâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Professional Development Department offers a variety of training programs for early care and education professionals. REGISTRATION & PAYMENT POLICIES REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT When you register for a Council training or workshop, you agree to our registration and payment policies.

FEES Fees are listed with each training description. EIP TUITION SUPPORT: The Educational Incentive Program (EIP) supports career development for child care providers. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and can be used for Council trainings and conferences. Please call 1-800-295-9616 or visit www.ecetp.pdp.albancy.edu for an application and information.

Please completely fill out a registration form for each person. Keep a copy for your records. Your enrollment is confirmed unless the Council contacts you. We encourage registration and payment in advance for all scheduled trainings and classes. This guarantees a space and planning for attendance. Walk-in registrants MUST pay an additional fee of $5.00. Walk-ins will be accommodated ONLY if there is space. Training certificates will be mailed after the training and when late fee payments have been received and processed.

CREDITS, REFUNDS, AND CANCELLATIONS There are NO refunds or rescheduling for missed trainings. If a training is cancelled, the participant may choose to have a refund or a credit towards another training.

If you cannot attend a training for which you are registered, to receive a refund, you must notify the Finance Department at extension 163 at least 48 hours before the scheduled class. You will be required to email or fax a signed written request to make a change or to receive a refund for any workshop registration 48 hours before the scheduled class.

REGISTER ONLINE Go to www.childcarewestchester.org. Find “Quick links” and click “Online workshop and event registration.” An email confirmation will be sent. Online payment is by credit card only. REGISTER BY MAIL OR FAX Fax registration forms with payment information to 914885-1110 or mail them to the Child Care Council of Westchester, 313 Central Park Avenue, Scarsdale, NY 10583. An email address must be included to receive a confirmation notice. This is a secure fax line.

BECOME A MEMBER OF THE CHILD CARE COUNCIL Council members receive a discount on fees for workshops, on-site trainings, and conferences.

Online registration closes at 4 p.m. the day before the training.

CHILDREN: Children are not allowed at trainings or to stay in the lobby during the training. Please make other child care arrangements for your child(ren).

Same day registration will be accommodated if there is space. You must register by phone, fax, or in person before 4 p.m.

Payment may be by check, Visa/Mastercard, money order, or EIP award certificate. Online payment must be by credit card. There is a $35 returned check fee.

SEATING: Seating for workshops begins 15 minutes before the workshop. No one will be admitted 15 minutes after the start of the training.

Proof of having applied for EIP is NOT considered payment. Only an EIP award certificate is accepted as payment. If you have applied for EIP but not received the award certificate, you will be responsible for payment before the start of the workshop.

TRAINING KEY NYS Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) Requirements

A total of 30 hours of training must be completed every two years. 15 hours of training hours must be received during the first six months of the program's first year of licensure or during a person's first six months of employment by the program. The description for each training lists which OCFS and CDA topics are covered in the training.

CERTIFICATES

For all Council trainings, a certificate is given which lists the topics areas by number. Training certificates will be given only if you arrive on time and remain for the entire training. If the Council has received and processed registration and payment prior to a workshop, the training certificate will be given at the conclusion of the training. If you have an outstanding balance, you will not receive a certificate.

Would you know what to do in an emergency? In this training, we will practice how to perform adult, child, and infant CPR skills. Students will also learn how to use an AED. Quality Improvement Services ASSISTANCE WITH QUALITYstarsNY Many Council trainings can assist your program in preparing for QUALITYstarsNY. Look for the star next to the training’s description. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (TA) Basic Technical Assistance is done by email, phone, or fax and is limited to less than 1 hour. There is no charge. Follow-Up Technical Assistance After Council Trainings – After attending a training, both basic and on-site TA is available to help bring the learning into your program. CDA – Child Development Associate INFANT-TODDLER CDA TRAINING The Infant-Toddler CDA class fulfills the 120-hour CDA education requirement. The course is held at the Council from September to June. It is FREE and open to individuals who work with infants or toddlers in a program that serves children subsidized by Westchester DSS. The next course begins in September 2013. THE ONLINE eCDA FOR INFANT-TODDLER OR PRESCHOOL The eCDA™ is an online program and hybrid version of the CDA. It combines a 120 hour online course with monthly in-person technical assistance meetings for a total of 164 hours. Participants can choose between an Infant-Toddler or Preschool Center-Based Credential. The course takes 6-7 months and can be started at any time. The cost is $1200 but income eligible candidates can receive EIP reimbursement. Additional scholarship aide may be available. Sabe usted que hacer en una emergencia? En esta clase vamos a practicar cómo poner en acción nuestras habilidades de resucitación cardiopulmonar (CPR). Los estudiantes también van a aprender cómo usar el “AED” (dispositivo automático externo). Durante esta clase, los participantes aprenderán cómo manejar situaciones de emergencias mientras llega ayuda profesional. Los estudiantes aprenderán cómo tratar hemorragias, esguinces, fracturas y golpes. La tarjeta de certificación es válida para dos años a través de la organización “American Heart Association”.
