The certification gives an independent seal of approval that our products meet specific environmental requirements, making it easier for us to share how we’re reducing harmful chemicals, promote energy efficiency, conserving water, and managing waste responsibly.
It also allows us to document and communicate our environmental practices at every stage; from cotton production to spinning, knitting, dyeing and beyond. With full transparency and traceability, we can proudly show our customers that our products meet very specific (and very high) environmental requirements.

EU ECOLABEL KEEPS GREEN CLAIMS HONEST
The EU Ecolabel isn’t just a pretty sticker – it’s enforced at a national level, in cooperation with national competent authorities in each EU country ensuring the label is used properly. In Denmark, Ecolabelling Denmark takes care of this, checking products with audits and documentation to make sure the label isn’t misused.

FAIRTRADE
OUR COMMITMENT TO FAIRNESS
At Neutral®, we walk the talk. The Fairtrade certification is a big deal for us, playing a central role in our work with responsibility in our supply chains. We buy our cotton from Chhindwara, India, in close collaboration with our production partner, ensuring full transparency and strict adherence to Fairtrade standards.
Why does this matter? Because it’s all about fairness.
By following Fairtrade standards, we make sure cotton producers get a fair payment, shielding them from market ups and downs and creating economic stability.
Fairtrade’s focus on decent wages and working conditions also help reducing the risk of human rights violations, such as child labour and poor treatment –problems often rooted in poverty and unstable living conditions. On top of that, Fairtrade bans the use of certain harmful chemicals and promotes responsible and healthy agricultural practices, minimising the negative environmental impact.

The Fairtrade certification is owned, managed and developed by Fairtrade International. It’s enforced by FLOCERT, an independent third-party that conducts regular inspections and audits, visiting farms and suppliers to ensure standards are met and the benefits truly reach farmers and workers.
SA8000
SA8000 DOESN’T CERTIFY PRODUCTS, IT CERTIFIES THE COMPANY. IT FOCUSES ON CREATING WORKPLACES THAT ARE SAFE, HEALTHY, AND FREE FROM DISCRIMINATION, ENSURING FAIR WAGES, REASONABLE WORKING HOURS, AND THE RIGHT TO A FREE UNION. IN SHORT, IT’S ALL ABOUT CREATING WORKPLACES THAT TREAT EMPLOYEES WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT.

GRS certification is a huge part of how we ensure transparency and responsibility in our supply chains. By tracking recycled content through every step of production, GRS reduces the risk of misinformation, making sure the materials we use are genuinely recycled.

In addition, GRS’s focus on safe chemical handling and responsible production processes helps Neutral® to minimize risks. Just as well as it gives us the opportunity to document that we work to ensure socially responsible working conditions and production practices.
WHAT MATERIALS CAN BE USED IN GRS PRODUCTS?
The GRS certification covers a wide range of materials: Polyester, cotton, wool, and more! These materials fall into two categories:

PRE-CONSUMER WASTE: I.E. SURPLUS MATERIALS FROM THE PRODUCTION PROCESS
POST-CONSUMER WASTE: MATERIAL THAT HAVE BEEN USED BY CONSUMER, AND THEN RECYCLED TO BE USED IN TEXTILE MATERIALS
GRS ENSURES EFFICIENT AND RESPONSIBLE RECYCLING
By monitoring recycled content throughout production, the Global Recycle Standard certification ensures materials are truly recycled. GRS also focuses on responsible chemical handling, thereby reducing the risk of negative health or environmental impacts. And as an extra bonus, GRS ensures that social and environmental standards are being upheld in the production process.

HOW WE RECYCLE
When manufacturing Neutral® products, we’ve often got a bit of cotton left over — cotton that farmers have worked hard to pick. Cotton that factory workers have spun into threads with time and care, and cotton that’s soaked up water, wind and sunlight to become the perfect apparel.
So, instead of throwing it out, we thought, why not give this cotton a fresh start and turn it into new styles, ready to be worn over and over?
We prolong the life of our cotton fibres and collect bottles, so we require fewer resources than producing new yarn. And as always – it’s made with certified responsibility!
COTTON
The cotton cut-offs from our production are first separated by colour at the production tables. Then shredded into crude fibres which are mixed with recycled polyester, and then re-spun into new yarn.
POLYESTER
Our polyester comes from plastic bottles and other plastic waste collected in India. The plastic is made into small plastic chips, which is then heated and made into string of polyester yarn.

Tiger Cotton® works to protect the biodiversity, people and planet by converting conventional farmers to fully certified organic production. By choosing Tiger Cotton®, you choose to support small-scale Indian cotton farmers’ journey from conventional cotton into organic cotton and thereby directly influence the supply of organic cotton brought into the industry. All the while protecting the Bengal Tigers in the area from toxic chemicals and pesticides while they wander between nature reserves.
So far, Tiger Cotton® has converted more than 4,000 cotton farmers into organic cotton production. But it’s just the beginning! We are expanding the project and are continuously looking for new farmers to join our Tiger Cotton®-Initiative. Tiger Cotton® is high quality label free basic wear made from 100% organic cotton in conversion and certified with EU Ecolabel, SA8000, GOTS in Conversion, Oeko-Tex and made on solar and wind energy only.
Below you can see a map of our first Tiger Cotton projoct in Madhya Pradesh. Whenthe tiger wanders from one nature reserve to the other the cotton fields function as animportant tiger corridor. Without the toxic impact of pesticides in cotton farming thetiger, the wildlife, and the farmer can thrive.
