The modules around project management and commercial awareness will undoubtedly offer development for the employee and help drive the focus for the employer. Recognition of accredited prior experiential learning is also key in this sector as many employees will have developed parallel skills and can now have them co-opted into their studies. David Haley, Managing Director, BDaily

EXPERIENCE COUNTS

How is it delivered? Participants will engage in work-based learning which is underpinned by academic study. They will have access to one-to-one tutor support, together with mentoring support from an industry professional. Learning will be supported by teaching staff using a range of methods including live online lectures and tutorials, podcasts and discussion forums.

The past and present can count towards your future. Our Accreditation of Prior Experience and/or Learning (APEL) process enables participants to gain credit towards their course for prior qualifications and/or learning. Decisions about the type and amount of credit may be based on certificates gained, which demonstrate that learning has been assessed. Or we may take into account learning from experience that is considered worthy of credit. In all cases, credit is awarded for learning that can be demonstrated, not for the experience itself. We can offer help by providing advice and support materials.

How are participants assessed? Much of the assessment will consider the participant’s performance within their place of work. Various other assessment methods will be used, including project assessment and staged tasks.

If you are interested in our APEL process please contact 0191 200 4000 for details.

How long will the programme last? Individual modules can be completed in 10 weeks, however, the length of time the participant will commit to completing the course is flexible as the learning timetable can be organised to fit in with the participant’s working week.

ENROLMENT DETAILS When does the programme start? This is a flexible programme with start dates in September, January and March.
