We’ve commissioned two pieces of new work too – Bodytalks (pg 19) by Southpaw Dance is a piece of dance theatre taking place in an actual gym, and a candy-fuelled party and ﬁlm screening has been developed by Missing Piece for SugarTrip (pg 17). Both of these events have been commissioned, curated and feature collaborations by under-25s.

BIG JUICE FAMILY DAY Celebrate the start of Juice Festival 2016 with us across two venues packed full of fun and exciting activities as well as preview performances for you to enjoy. On Sat 22 Oct, we’ll be at Discovery Museum in Newcastle as well as Trinity Square in Gateshead from 11am – 3pm with Team Juice and acts from across the festival. Dance on the floor as well as in the air, exploring and putting your Downside Up! Watch aerial dancers climb, fly and spin in the air. Get the chance to have a go yourself and hang upside down, dance in our cocoons and also on a trapeze. Explore the world of Downside Up with live performance, films, and interactive activities for families. An intrepid team of young explorers from Heaton Manor School have been digging into the Great North Museum’s hidden stories and collections. November Club artists and museum staff will help the explorers bring the museum’s collections to life during Juice Festival in new, creative and exciting ways. Look out for live ‘pop up’ performances at the Great North Museum and appearances of a mobile mini-museum on wheels in the city centre!

Journey through the historic Mining Institute for a promenade performance based on the Vampire Rabbit of Newcastle, a mystery that has baffled residents for over 100 years.
