This premiere production is the first for Live Theatre from this artistic team: Mike Packer is the writer of the hit comedy The Dysfunckshonalz! (soon to be a feature film and set to open shortly in the West End). Lisa Goldman is the former Artistic Director of The Soho Theatre and new writing company The Red Room.

Local actress Melanie Hill (Joe Maddison’s War, Bread & Auf Wiedersehen Pet) will be taking to the stage alongside David Hargreaves (Pub Quiz is Life, On the Shore of the Wide World & RSC) who plays the lead role of Harry. Harry’s sons are played by Matthew Wait (Casualty) and Steven Hillman (Emmerdale). The family is completed by Martina Laird (Casualty & RSC).

Meet the Writer and Director Join Max Roberts, Artistic Director at Live Theatre, writer Mike Packer and director Lisa Goldman and take the opportunity to ask questions about the production and the inspiration for the play.

With Inheritance, we aim to re-affirm Live’s commitment to developing new creative partnerships with some of the country’s most exciting theatre practitioners and to help to produce a piece of work that is both personally affecting and universally resonant.”
Meet the Cast Join director Lisa Goldman and members from the cast as they talk about the process of bringing Mike’s play to life. They will also be answering questions from the audience.

Opening Night Celebrate the official first night of a production when there’s always an air of excitement in the theatre. Pay What You Can £PWYC PWYC performances offer a great opportunity to see a show at a price you can afford. Tickets for Sunday PWYC performances go on sale at midday the Friday before. A maximum of 4 tickets can be booked per transaction.

Worried that, because of his life-long political convictions, he hasn’t got anything to leave to his sons and grandchildren. So, by joining the property owning democracy, Harry thinks he’s helping everyone out. Then the economic downturn gets in the way. Inheritance is a comic, timely family drama for anyone who’s ever been in debt.

Public Transport Live Theatre is a 10 minute walk from Central Station, Monument and Manors Metro Stations. The Quay Link bus service runs every 10 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes during the evening until midnight providing a safe and easy way of getting to and from the Theatre. Parking There is a car park in the Trinity Gardens complex 50 metres up the road from the Theatre, which can be accessed from City Road and Trinity Gardens. This is a secure 24 hour car park and costs 70p per hour and is free after 5pm from 25 Oct. There is limited on street parking on Broad Chare and additional car parks nearby.
