The winner was Colab from Recife, Brazil and the 2 runners up were BuzzJourney from Israel and Public Stuff from the US. Quatro brasileiros são semifinalistas do AppMyCity O concurso AppMyCity!, que premiará o melhor aplicativo urbano do mundo, anunciou hoje os seus dez semifinalistas. E uma boa notícia para o Brasil: entre a dezena, há quatro apps feitos aqui concorrendo pela premiação de 5.000 dólares. Os apps vêm de seis países diferentes: além dos quatro brasileiros, estão no páreo programas da Índia, Israel, Estados Unidos, África do Sul e Holanda. Todos eles têm uma característica em comum: visam melhorar, de alguma forma, a vida em ambientes urbanos. Os dez já contam com site próprio, são gratuitos e estão disponíveis para download e uso. Confira a relação completa abaixo: - AirCasting (Nova York, EUA): o aplicativo serve para gravar, mapear e compartilhar dados relacionados a saúde e meio ambiente. Para isso, ele usa medidas captadas pelo smartphone dos usuários, além de anotações compartilhadas no “mapa coletivo” dele (CrowdMap). Tem versão apenas para Android. - BuzzJourney (Kfar-Saba, Israel): ainda em fase beta, o app é um “compartilhador” de caronas. Ele mapeia todas as rotas possíveis de A até B, permitindo que um motorista que passa pelos locais faça do próprio carro um “táxi” temporário. Disponível para Android e iOS, mas apenas em Israel. - Colab (Recife, Brasil): permite que os cidadãos reportem diariamente os problemas da cidade, propondo novos projetos e soluções para o governo e ainda avaliem os serviços públicos. Conta com versão para Android e iOS. - Dérive App (Johanesburgo, Áfria do Sul): um pouco mais abstrato, o Dérive gera uma espécie de rota aleatória para que uma pessoa conheça a se envolva uma cidade. Funciona como webware, que pode ser acessado em aparelhos com iOS, Android e Windows Phone. - iWhisper (Amsterdã, Holanda): o app holandês serve como guia turístico virtual, dando informações em áudio baseadas na localização do usuário. A ideia do projeto é ter aplicativos customizados para cidades, com conteúdo próprio. Ainda está em fase de testes e a versão para iOS funciona somente em Amsterdã. - paprika (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil): lançado na Campus Party do ano passado, o paprika ajuda a criar “redes sociais instantâneas” na cidade. Elas são úteis para discutir eventos diários e questões relacionadas à região. Tem versão para Android e para iOS. - PublicStuff (Filadélfia, EUA): tem como foco ajudar as prefeituras a transformar dúvidas e observações dos moradores em melhorias na cidade. Ele conecta as pessoas

umas às outras e também “diretamente” ao representantes municipais. Conta com versões para Android, iOS e BlackBerry, que funcionam ainda apenas nos EUA. - Urbanias (São Paulo, Brasil): a plataforma incentiva os usuários a observar e denunciar problemas e acontecimentos nas ruas, ajudando os governos a encontrá-los e, se necessário, repará-los. Está disponível para Android, iOS e no Facebook. - VaiRio (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil): com uma ideia similar à do popular Waze, o VaiRio ajuda os usuários a encontrar o melhor caminho no trânsito. Assim, reduz o tempo que passam em congestionamentos e emissões de gases do efeito estufa. Apresenta versão apenas para iOS. - Walkability (Nova Délhi, Índia): reúne informações fornecidas por vários usuários sobre as condições das vias, para que todos saibam a “caminhabilidade” (se dá para caminhar) de cada uma. Também ajuda o governo a encontrar formas de recriar esses espaços, tornando-os próprios para pedestres. O app está disponível para Android e iOS. O painel de jurados avaliará os dez semifinalistas a partir de hoje, e os três finalistas serão anunciados no dia 7 de maio. Os desenvolvedores do trio de apps serão convidados para o New Cities Summit, a Cúpula das Novas Cidades, a ser realizada em São Paulo entre os dias 4 e 6 de junho. Os projetos serão apresentados a diversos líderes urbanos e empreendedores durante o evento. Eles escolherão o melhor dos três, que receberá US$ 5.000 para apoiar o desenvolvimento do aplicativo e ainda ganhará um bom tanto de visibilidade.

New Cities Foundation selects 10 Finalists of AppMyCity Prize The New Cities Foundation has announced the list of ten semi-finalists from 6 countries and 5 continents for the AppMyCity! Prize for the world’s best urban app. Their competing mobile apps were selected for their potential to enhance the urban experience and their potential impact. Mathieu Lefevre, Executive Director of the New Cities Foundation and AppMyCity Prize Judge, said, "We were so impressed by the fantastic applications we received from cities all across the world for this year’s AppMyCity! Prize. The ten apps we have pre-selected all reaffirm the potential for mobile apps to make good cities great, in very different ways. Whether leading a citizen through a new experience of the city or helping people map walkable routes in cities, these innovative apps re-imagine the role of the individual in the metropolis and the impact of the metropolis on the individual. I now look forward to working together with my fellow judges and picking the three finalists who will join us at the New Cities Summit in São Paulo." The semi-finalists were selected by the New Cities Foundation, out of a total of 92 apps to meet the Prize requirements. New Cities Foundation has also announced that 3 finalists among the 10 will be selected on May 7, 2013 and invited to the New Cities Summit in the month of June. In their final bid to win, the three finalists will present their project live at the Summit. The winner will be selected by the audience and announced during the Summit. The winner will be given a prize money of US$5,000 towards further development of their app.

Prize for the world'ʹs best urban app. Congratulations to the finalists! PublicStuff, from New York City, USA, helps local governments turn civic inquiries into tangible community improvements by enabling residents to connect to their representatives through mobile phones, laptops, and tablets. BuzzJourney, from Kfar-‐‑Saba, Israel, is a social transportation app that provides information on all means of urban transportation including bus, train, taxi, bike rental and even car sharing. Walkability, from Delhi, India, crowd-‐‑sources data on walkability to inform the government on how to create more pedestrian-‐‑friendly urban spaces. Colab, from Recife and São Paulo, Brazil, uses photos and geolocation to encourage transparency and collaboration in city management, allowing citizens to report daily urban issues, elaborate on and propose new projects, and evaluate public services.
The developers behind the three chosen finalists will be offered an all-‐‑expenses paid trip to the invitation-‐‑only New Cities Summit, to be held June 4-‐‑6 in São Paulo. At the Summit, the finalists will present their apps to an audience of global urban leaders. The winner of the $5,000 cash prize will be selected by the audience and announced live at the Summit.

Colab, o aplicativo social para compartilhar problemas da sua cidade Já pensou em uma rede social destinada apenas à solução de problemas em cidades brasileiras? O Colab é justamente isso. Trata-se de um aplicativo social criado com o objetivo de conectar pessoas que desejam reportar e divulgar problemas de suas respectivas regiões.

Um dos criadores do Colab, Josemando Sobral contou em entrevista ao TechTudo que a ideia veio por conta do alto índice de reclamações sobre problemas nas cidades – sejam a respeito do trânsito, iluminação ou qualquer outra coisa – nas redes sociais. Sendo assim, com um time experiente na área política, o pernambucano e seus parceiros resolveram criar uma maneira mais fácil de propor melhorias para as cidades brasileiras. “Combinamos eficiência do sistema de gestão com a praticidade de uma rede social”, revela Josemando. A plataforma funciona em cima de três pilares: Fiscalize, Proponha e Avalie. A seção de Fiscalize é voltada para o dia a dia da cidade e os problemas encontrados 1

nela. A publicação pode ser feita tanto pelo próprio navegador no Desktop ou pelo app em dispositivos móveis. O Proponha é um espaço para usuários sugerirem ideias ou projetos e promoverem discussões com os demais membros da rede. E, por fim, o Avalie é destinado para avaliação de serviços, instituições e entidades diretamente ligadas ao poder político. O serviço foi lançado em março deste ano com uma versão Beta, destinada apenas para convidados. O objetivo era compreender como os usuários iriam interagir com o serviço. A partir daí, no final do mesmo mês, o aplicativo ficou liberado para todo o estado de Pernambuco. Em abril, o serviço ficou disponível para usuários de São Paulo. Todo problema relatado é encaminhado para os órgãos responsáveis. Josemando afirma que eles estão em contato com alguns órgãos das prefeituras de ambos os estados (Pernambuco e São Paulo) para automatizar o processo. Apesar de recente, o Colab tem grandes planos. Ainda esta semana o serviço deverá ser liberado para cidades do Rio de Janeiro. Além disso, a empresa ainda pretende implantar novas funcionalidades como um crowfunding urbano e uma versão fechada do Colab, destinada apenas a empresas e universidades. O Colab também está representando o Brasil na disputa pelo prêmio mundial AppMyCity. O aplicativo é um dos três finalistas da competição. O vencedor será conhecido durante o evento New Cities Summit, em São Paulo, no início de junho. Usuários de Android e iOS já podem baixar do aplicativo do Colab em seus smartphones e compartilhar os problemas de suas cidades. O download é gratuito. De acordo com Josemando, os usuários de Windows Phone vão ter que esperar só um pouco. Mas o pernambucano garante que a versão para dispositivos da Microsoft já está a caminho.

São Paulo – A Colab é uma rede social voltada para a cidadania cujo principal objetivo é fazer a conexão entre cidadãos e prefeituras. O aplicativo foi ao ar em março deste ano e foi criado pelos empreendedores Gustavo Maia, Bruno Aracaty, Paulo Pandolfi, Josemando Sobral e Vitor Guedes. Os jovens são sócios da QuickSite, embarcada no Porto Digital, e da 30ideas. Juntos investiram cerca de 400 mil reais para desenvolver o negócio. A ideia para criar o aplicativo surgiu quando os empreendedores observaram queredes sociais como Twitter e Facebook eram usadas para expor problemas e soluções sobre assuntos relacionados às cidades. A rede tem três pilares: fiscalize, proponha e avalie. O usuário pode apontar desde problemas como falta de iluminação pública a defesa do consumidor e propor soluções. A prefeitura consegue ter acesso aos comentários em um banco de dados. O aplicativo é gratuito e está disponível para aparelhos Android e iOS. O aplicativo é finalista de duas competições: AppMyCity!, promovido pelo New Cities Foundation, e do DEMO Brasil 2013, evento deempreendedorismo. Os vencedores serão anunciados em junho deste ano. O pitch: “O Colab é uma rede social para a cidadania, que conecta cidadão às cidades e faz a ponte entre cidadão e poder público.
