125,000 Reasons to Love McWhinney’s M

cWhinney’s £125,000 sausage giveaway got off to a roaring start in 2023 to mark the company’s 125th anniversary. Shops the length and breadth of the UK have been taking part in the ‘buy a fish and chips, get a sausage and chips free’ promotion which has helped customers beat the January blues. So far, five shops have taken part: Henley’s of Wivenhoe, Fishers of Hunstanton, The Chip Company Belfast, Valerio’s Famous Fish and Chips Lanark and The Frying Squad Bangor.

The promotion is aimed at giving back to all the loyal shops and customers who have allowed McWhinney’s to grow and continue making the high quality sausages that the nation have come to know and love. Scott McWhinney, Sales and Marketing Director for McWhinney’s Sausages, said “I joined the company full time last year and it has been an exciting time to come on board. The anniversary is our chance to connect with the people that have supported us over the years and it is an honour to be able to bring this project to life.

“We decided to run the promotion alongside fish as we believed it would assist shops in what could otherwise be a difficult year with the cost of living being what it is. We have heard from those that have taken part so far that footfall has been up and the targeted social media advertising we are running is directing people their way to take part and claim their free meal.”
