Dear Friends, The Osceola County Council on Aging has worked tirelessly for 35 years to help vulnerable citizens live with independence and dignity. During that time, Osceola County has become home to a swiftly growing senior population that is largely indigent and in critical need of assistance. More than 20% of Osceola County’s population is over the age of 55. While the Council has continued to keep pace with the growing needs of our community, we have reached the point of outgrowing the facility where our organization provides services. A new Center is needed to not only maintain current levels of service, but to prepare for the increasing numbers of residents who will most certainly need our help in the future. There are so many ways you can help meet the growing need. The Council on Aging urges you to consider the contribution suggestions contained in this letter, and do your part to make Osceola County a kind and compassionate community. After all, today it is your neighbor ... tomorrow it could be you. Sincerely, Beverly Hougland Chief Executive Officer

The 42,000 square foot Center for All Generations will include… • A senior health clinic for screenings, primary and secondary care • Four multi-purpose congregate rooms which open up to create a spacious event venue • Special needs facility to shelter up to 1,000 elderly and disabled persons in the event of disaster • A large catering and packing full-service kitchen

• An adult daycare center for up to 70 clients • Headquarters for Transportation services for daily services and for emergency evacuation • Therapy and examination rooms for collaborative private care partnerships • An indoor walking/jogging track

Our Mission The Osceola Council on Aging, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3, non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to providing services to enable independence and self-sufficiency for seniors, disabled adults and disadvantaged families.

Financial Goal photo

The total cost for this state of the art facility is $12 million. This includes the land and equipment such as examination room tables, wheelchair scales, kitchen and administrative equipment,

communication systems and power generation for the ability to operate indefinitely during periods of power outages. To that end, the Council has raised almost $5 million including the generous donation of land from the Barney E. Veal family and $2 million approved by the Osceola County Board of County Commissioners. Additional private and corporate donations have also been received.

To make the Center a reality, the Council must raise an additional $7 million. With the support of our care giver partners, the corporate and small business community, local government, philanthropic organizations and individuals the Council can attain this goal. By doing so we can continue to deliver services as we have for the past 35 years to the vulnerable, elderly, disabled, and less fortunate individuals and families of Osceola County.
