Kimpton Taconic Hotel offers luxurious Vermont getaway
Welcome to Kimpton Taconic Hotel, a boutique hotel that brings to mind some of the state’s grand leisure inns of days past while stylishly bringing to life a modern, sophisticated New England stay. Surrounded by mountains, we call it quintessential Vermont with a fresh, exciting twist. The ideal destination for guests traveling solo or with their furry companions, couples, families, and meeting attendees. Not to mention the perfect spot to exchange wedding vows. Or for Vermonters who simply want a night (or two) away from home with a delicious dinner at our Copper Grouse restaurant, Kimpton Taconic is excited to be your home away from home.
Drawing inspiration from Vermont’s grand inns and resorts of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Kimpton Taconic Hotel welcomes guests with traditional clapboard architecture and a grand front porch overlooking Main Street that invites you to sit, relax and set your cares free while rocking away with a cocktail, beverage, or light bite. Kimpton Taconic’s warmth beckons one to relax by the Copper Grouse bar, front porch, fire pit, or lobby while local musicians perform live.
Beyond Kimpton Taconic’s exterior charms, we strive to create memories that stay with you for a lifetime. We can’t wait to share our vision for making your next meeting or social occasion full of “only-in-Vermont” moments. We offer 9,600 square feet of flexible indoor/outdoor event space, which is a breath of fresh air.
Our French ballroom doors open onto our terrace and garden, surrounded by lush Vermont greenery, as we attempt to bring the outdoors into everything we do.
Leading the helm as new hotel General Manager is Nick Squire, passionate about building a truly committed team that’s excited to work towards our common goal to curate and create memorable Taconic and Vermont experiences for our guests and neighbors. Nick joins us from his most recent post as General Manager of an upscale hotel and resort on Lake Winnipe- saukee in Meredith, NH, and has worked in the hospitality industry his entire life, including as General Manager of several other Vermont and Relais & Chateaux Inns and Hotels. Nick is originally from England but has extensive New England experience, especially in Vermont. His background, while globally inspired, is rooted in authentic genuine New England hospitality, the kind of service that embraces you with warmth and sincere friendliness the moment you walk through the hotel’s front door.
Another new face at Taconic is Executive Chef Nicolas Houlbert, who brings more than 30 years of culinary experience to the hotel and Copper Grouse Restaurant & Bar. The Taconic offers our guests and neighbors something for all seasons. For the transition from winter to spring, you can enjoy one of Vemont’s sweetest exports during what the locals know as “sugaring season.” When warm days and cold nights encourage sap to flow, the Taconic embraces this yearly tradition by offering a luxurious overnight package that includes locally made wood-fired Vermont Maple Syrup, Maple Sugar Body & Face Scrub, and Body Butter courtesy of our friends at Hazel & Bee Organics made right here in
Manchester, and a credit to Taconic’s Copper Grouse Restaurant and Bar to indulge in their seasonal maple cocktail or dessert.
It doesn’t need to be a special occasion to enjoy a romantic getaway close to home. Taconic’s Bubbly in Bed romance package includes an overnight stay, dinner at Copper Grouse, a bottle of champagne, and locally made Mother Myrick’s Confectionery Chocolates. Of course, like any Kimpton hotel that warmly welcomes all types of pets, the hotel’s Pampered Pooch package will ensure that your furry companion never feels like he’s ruffing it.
These are just a few of Taconic’s seasonal packages. Visit Taconichotel.com to explore more seasonal offerings and premiere experiences you can only enjoy here in Manchester.
Whether traveling for peace of mind or work, let Kimpton Taconic help you create a customized itinerary for each day of your visit for any type of escape, from adventure to complete relaxation. Our Taconic team would be happy to help you craft an itinerary, whether it includes hiking, exploring breweries and farms, fly fishing in the Battenkill River, skiing Stratton, exploring local museums and historic homes like Hildene (did you know we offer two adult tickets per stay to Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home?). Whether visiting or living nearby, please join us at the hotel that Travel + Leisure named one of the top three hotels in the Northeast and enjoy all that Vermont has to offer.
