You could gain new skills and get accredited training, such as event stewarding or marshalling; or even give up an hour to help at your local day centre. Newham’s Volunteers programme provides a flexible service that offers both short-term and long-term volunteering opportunities where you can give as little or as much time as you can spare. It’s open to everyone from the young to the retired, from those with a disability to refugees and asylum seekers. We will train and support you so that you can be the very best you can be, while helping those around you.

Make a difference to you, your community, neighbourhood, and local area by giving up just one hour this summer to volunteer. Newham Council in partnership with Newham’s Volunteer programme offer a huge variety of ways for residents to volunteer and play their part in supporting their community. We understand that time for everyone is limited so the volunteer programme is flexible and varied. There is so much you can do in just one hour and who knows, maybe it can become a regular activity. Street-Fusion Jazz Dance is totally unlike the theatre style most people associate with Jazz Dance; definitely no jazz hands here, you’ll be spinning on your knees instead. Our style of Jazz Dance is rooted in clubs and many of today’s popular street dance styles have taken elements of what we do. Street-Fusion Jazz Dance is an exciting mix of fast intricate footwork, so-called drop moves and acrobatic floor work, and it’s all about your creativity and personality as a dancer! The beauty of Street-Fusion Jazz Dance is that it’s flexible, lacking the rigidity of many other dance styles and it is for this reason that it appeals to such a wide audience, especially young people. The words “wrong” and “technically unclean” which we so often hear in dance schools are replaced with “individuality” and “energy”. We firmly believe that anyone can get into dancing our style of dance.
