Summer on the Hill
At New Hope Christian College, we believe the power of community is essential to our success. What better way to engage with each other than by exploring all that Eugene and its beautiful surroundings have to offer! From hiking in the majestic Cascade Mountains or enjoying a beach day on the white sand beaches of the Pacific Coast, there's something for every NHCC student throughout their college journey.
In the summer, NHCC students love to engage in a number of activities all around Eugene and the greater Willamette Valley. Those seeking adventure will find over 154 lakes in Lane County and more hiking and biking trails than you can count. Not far away in Eastern Oregon, incredible whitewater rafting and other outdoor experiences await.
Only fifteen minutes from campus, you can float the river with friends or hike Mount Pisgah and Spencers Butte trails for unparalleled views of the Emerald Valley. Berry picking and visits to the bustling farmer's markets are also a must, along with exploring Alton Baker park's running trails, bike paths, and disc golf course.
If you love the arts, Eugene has a vibrant cultural scene headlined by the Hult Center for the Performing Arts where students can attend Broadway musicals and performances by world renowned artists. In addition, the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art awaits your audience with over 30,000 pieces of art and exhibitions for you to enjoy.
NHCC is more than just a learning institution; it's a place you can build community and lasting relationships. Our location in the Willamette Valley is full of possibilities. From picnics to mountain hikes, there's no limit to meaningful activities that will help you forge lifelong friendships.
