ENDICOTT VS. U.S. MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2018 HOSTED BY: ENDICOTT | 12 PM
ABOUT THE NEW ENGLAND BOWL The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC), the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), and the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) came together to present the Inaugural New England Bowl Series in 2016. In 2017, the New England Bowl Series expanded to two games featuring four teams. This year, the series will have three games, including two teams from the CCC and NEWMAC and one from both the ECFC and MASCAC. While the additional bowl game will allow student-athletes from six teams, rather than limiting it four, to enjoy an outstanding postseason experience in 2018, there is no commitment by the participating conferences to continue offering the third bowl game in future years at this time. Out of the New England conferences there are a total of 27 football teams in New England that are eligible to declare to the New England Bowl. The ECFC, MASCAC, CCC and NEWMAC commissioners will select the opponents and the host institutions following the announcement of the 32-team NCAA Division III Championship field. Criteria that is used by the four commissioners to select the New England Bowl participants from declared teams with an overall winning percentage of .600 or higher will include overall record, conference record, conference standing, head-to-head results, and results versus teams selected for the NCAA Tournament. The four commissioners continue its partnership with Learfield Sports to brand the New England Bowl Series and will be exploring additional sponsorship, marketing and merchandising opportunities in the coming weeks. Revenue generated from the game will help offset costs incurred by the host institution and travel costs incurred by the visiting team.

ABOUT THE CCC The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) is comprised of nine full member institutions throughout the New England region that aim to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The Conference started operations as men’s basketball league in the 1984-85 season with seven teams competing in that first year. They were Anna Maria College, Curry College, Emerson College, Hellenic College, Salve Regina University, the United States Coast Guard Academy, and Wentworth Institute of Technology. There have been numerous membership changes since then. The current contingent consists of Curry College, Endicott College, Gordon College, Nichols College, Roger Williams University, Salve Regina University, the University of New England, Wentworth Institute of the Technology, and Western New England University. The conference’s sport sponsorship has expanded to include 18 championship sports. In 2017-18, the CCC assumed operations of the New England Football Conference (NEFC). The rebranded CCC Football league includes current CCC members Curry, Endicott, Nichols, Salve Regina, University of New England, and Western New England with the addition of associate member Becker College. Husson University will join the contingent as an associate member in the 2019 season. The CCC is run by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye and Associate Commissioner Doug Chin. The CCC office is based out of Springfield, Mass.
ABOUT THE ECFC The Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) is a single-sport conference comprised of seven institutions that are devoted to reflecting the philosophy of Division III athletics and promoting intercollegiate varsity football as an integral part of the education experience of all competitors. Sportsmanship, fair play, moral integrity and competitive excellence are all cornerstones of the conference. The ECFC was established in 2009 with Alfred State College (Alfred, NY), Anna Maria College (Paxton, MA), Castleton University (Castleton, VT), Dean College (Franklin, Mass.), Gallaudet University (Washington, D.C.), Husson University (Bangor, ME) and Maritime College (NY) (Throggs Neck, NY) making up the current league membership. Beginning with the 2019 season Keystone College (Factoryville, PA) will become a full member of the conference. Katie Boldvich serves as Commissioner of the ECFC with Stephanie Scarpato serving as Assistant Commissioner.
ABOUT THE MASCAC The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) is the nation’s oldest Division III men’s and women’s playing conference and has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. The MASCAC is comprised of eight State institutions: Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men’s ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football starting in 2013. Founded in 1970-71, at the urging of Trustee Howard Smith, the Athletic Directors of the State Colleges held a series of meetings to discuss the possibility of forming an Athletic Conference. In June of 1971, an affirmative agreement was reached and the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference became a reality. In 2010 when the six colleges transitioned to universities the conference name was changed to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference. The MASCAC mission statement is “The purpose of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference is to provide a comprehensive program of athletics for all State Universities. The objective underlying this purpose is to create a healthy atmosphere of competition and rivalry between the Universities and their student bodies while fostering the values of cooperation, leadership, courage, self-discipline, sportsmanship, diversity and self-reliance among the participating student-athletes.” Angela Baumann currently serves as the MASCAC Commissioner while Emily Loux is the MASCAC Director of Media Relations. The MASCAC offices reside in Westfield, Massachusetts. For all your up-to-date MASCAC sports information check out www.mascac.com and follow the MASCAC on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram by searching MASCAC Sports.
ABOUT THE NEWMAC The New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) is an association of 11 selective academic institutions that are committed to providing high quality competitive athletic opportunities for student-athletes within an educational and respectful environment that embodies the NCAA Division III philosophy. The NEWMAC was established in 1998, when the former New England Women’s 8 Conference (NEW 8) voted to begin sponsoring conference play and championships for men. At this time, the conference expanded its membership to include Springfield College and the United States Coast Guard Academy. Emerson College became the 11th full-time member of the conference on July 1, 2013. The NEW 8 began play in 1985-86 as the New England Women’s 6 Conference (NEW 6). Charter members were Babson College, Brandeis University, MIT, Smith College, Wellesley College and Wheaton College. Mount Holyoke College and WPI joined in 1988 and the name was changed to the NEW 8 Conference.
