One To Watch “in art there’s everything, and in everything there’s art,” says 16-year-old Jaylah Hall, a visual and spoken word artist whose depth of work belies her young age. “i’ve always had a love for art,” she says. “the possibility of awakening creativity—to make something out of nothing—is what first inspired me to pick up a pencil.” Stories underpin much of her work, such as the portrait of a girl in an airport facing an uncertain future, or another that brings to life the puzzling appearance of Caribbean snow for a young schoolboy in Jamaica. She’s inspired, she says, by artists who combine intention with creativity. “I adore the works of Toni Morrison, Tiffany D. Jackson, Donald Glover and Jordan Peele.” already an entrepreneur (she’s the owner of the cre8tor house, a digital design studio), Jaylah’s multi-faceted goals bring in her various artistic passions. “i would love to work in film as not only an animator but a director, actress and screen play writer.” Visit thecre8torhouse.com to view and order her prints.
