Amsterdam and Optional Cruise Excursion
Amsterdam – a wonderful place to visit!
Amsterdam
The delightful city of Amsterdam, with its canals, cobblestones, café-bars and artistic heritage is worldrenowned for its popular museums – the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Rembrandt House. All house immediately recognisable works of art from some of the great Dutch Masters. Another of Amsterdam’s most visited museums is the poignant Anne Frank House, the building in which the young girl and her diary were hidden during much of the Second World War. Relaxed and laid-back, Amsterdam has a thriving cafeculture, and when you’ve finished enjoying the sights, take a seat in a cafe or bar to watch the world go by.

If our canal cruise tour (below) isn’t for you, a visit to the Dutch capital simply wouldn’t be complete without an afternoon spent strolling along the canal-lined streets, watching the narrowboats, and enjoying the iconic, narrow gabled houses that line the streets. As with much of The Netherlands, Amsterdam is largely flat, an aspect that encourages and enables exploration of the city’s sights on foot. Amsterdam also has a great network of trams and buses which, with the use of a public transport chip card (paid for in advance online or locally), will speed up your exploration of the sights, and give you discounted entry to a number of attractions.
