Journey north to explore the wonderful Portuguese capital of Lisbon, where highlights include the ornate architecture of the Belém quarter, the Baixa’s grid of wide tree-lined avenues, and the narrow streets of the Alfama district. A second included excursion takes in Seville, the great City of Flamenco and one of Spain’s greatest treasures. Stunning buildings, beautiful parks, grand boulevards and atmospheric Old Quarters, a magnificent Cathedral, Spain’s oldest bullring and a Moorish Alcazar leading through to the historic Jewish Quarter all add to the atmosphere of this special place. Optional excursions to the wooded hinterland, to the rugged, windswept western peninsula, and to the colourful coastal towns and villages of the eastern Algarve, complete a marvellous holiday.
