From your unspoiled Costa Brava base beside the blue Mediterranean, journey into the heart of the stunning Pyrenean countryside aboard some delightful railways. Wind your way upwards on sometimes modern, sometimes historic rolling stock, and across some marvels of railway engineering.

Based in the delightful resort of Roses, this holiday includes a ride aboard the quaint, tractor-hauled, tourist road ‘train’, which winds its way from the resort into the wooded Cap de Creus National Park. The historic Little Yellow Train will take you through the sun-kissed French Pyrenees from picturepostcard-perfect, UNESCO-listed, walled Villefranche-de-Conflent, across bridges and viaducts and through stunning scenery to Mont-Louis with its citadel and city walls. A 45-minute journey aboard the two-car Núria Rack Railway – through a steep, forested gorge to remote ski station and pilgrimage shrine Núria – and a final Pyrenean ride aboard the 100-year-old Red Train, travelling through the spectacular scenery of castle-dotted Cathar Country, complete a wonderful holiday.
