Beginning with two nights overlooking the ceaseless tumult of Niagara, where there’s the chance to view the falls on an optional helicopter flight or to get close-up on a boat trip, the tour then heads, via charming Niagara-on-the-Lake, to Toronto, with its historic ‘neighbourhood’ districts, interconnected shopping malls and glittering shoreline watched over by the sky-piercing CN Tower. One of North America’s most cosmopolitan cities, Toronto is also one of its friendliest. The ’Maple Leaf Trail’ then heads to Canada’s administrative capital Ottawa, set against the Gatineau Hills, then on to Québec City, North America’s only walled settlement, and finally to stylish Montréal, the world’s second-largest French-speaking metropolis.
