DIVISION OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

WHAT WE VALUE The Christian Education faculty members are committed to creating environments that allow and encourage students to refine their character, prepare for their vocational calling, and enhance their ministry potential. The curriculum engages students intentionally and personally in each of these domains.

THINK OUT LOUD The classroom is a safe place to think critically without being critical; challenge assumptions but not authority; discern eternal values in the context of cultural chaos; construct strategies with a mission focus and discover biblical truth that stands the test of time.

LEARN WITH PURPOSE Active and purposeful learning characterizes the interactions between teacher and pupil and among learning peers. The multidimensional and dynamic process of learning is formal and informal, relational and reciprocal. Students acquire new information and skills in a variety of learning encounters and contexts. Each vibrant learning experience is shaped by specific methodology and enhanced by pupil motivation and participation.

PRACTICE TO DO Learning must translate into action. Students discover and develop new skills in the laboratory of life. Internships and mentorships provide students opportunities to test ministry models for relevance and effectiveness in real ministry situations under the supervision and direction of experienced faculty and mentors.

“The most crucial issue in evangelism today is discipleship. Our ability to do church in a way that brings our people into a greater knowledge of the Bible and a greater likeness to Christ in our living is crucial if we are to fulfill the Great Commission. Preparing students to address this challenge in the local church is the heart and soul of the Christian Education program at NOBTS. DR. CHUCK KELLEY PRESIDENT NOBTS
