THE GRADUATE PROGRAM The Graduate Program at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary is founded upon a competency-based curriculum designed to provide the tools needed for effective ministry. Academics and practical ministry training revolve around seven competencies: Biblical Exposition, Christian Theological Heritage, Disciple Making, Interpersonal Skills, Servant Leadership, Spiritual and Character Formation, and Worship Leadership. The goal is to build the kingdom of God through spiritually sound, competent, and compassionate ministers.
6 6 DIVISIONS OF STUDY The Graduate Program is organized in six divisions: Biblical Studies, Christian Education, Church Music Ministries, Church and Community Ministries, Pastoral Ministries, and Theological and Historical Studies. Each division is led by a highly trained, specialized faculty member. NOBTS professors are not only leaders in their respective disciplines but also passionately focused on ministry. Students experience each division through the core courses of most graduate degrees.
40 + MYRIAD DEGREES, ACADEMIC PLANS, AND CONCENTRATIONS Master’s degrees at NOBTS have been designed with the individual in mind. In all, the more than 40 degrees, academic plans, and concentrations allow students to tailor their study to fit a specific call from God.

A COMMUNITY OF MENTORS.
“Our goals at Leavell College are two-fold: to equip our students for ministry and to prepare them for further study at the graduate level. Involved in this preparation is a continued emphasis upon one’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our world needs men and women who have a heart for God.”
The new Entrust Mentoring Community allows students to receive world-class theological education while partnering with a church or ministry mentor. Students can earn up to 29 hours toward the Master of Divinity while serving in a mentored ministry position. Regardless of location, students can complete the mentoring portion of the degree by partnering with an NOBTS-approved mentor at a church

LEAVELL COLLEGE
/ UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
A unique undergraduate setting, Leavell College provides for the educational needs of ministers who never completed their college education, were called to ministry later in life, or are simply seeking theological education designed for an adult learner. Our programs range from non-credit certificates to the baccalaureate level, providing ministerial training that equips all church leaders to be effective in their ministries.
“I want students to have the type of mentoring relationship that I was afforded in seminary. I learned a lot in the classroom, but when troubles and trials hit in my first pastorate, instead of turning to my books and notes, I picked up the phone and called my mentor.”
