Welcome Messages

President’s Message Thank you for taking an interest in the New Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce! I truly enjoy being a part of the board and have been a member since 2010. This has allowed me the opportunity to meet many amazing people and help navigate our community toward growth and accomplishment. I have lived in the New Palestine area for over fifty years and have seen tremendous change. Friendliness, family values and a desire to better each other has always been at the heart of our achievements. I was drawn to the Chamber partially because of the local business I’ve operated for 37 years. I had a desire to support other community businesses in our common goal of maintainibg success and looking towards growth. Networking, teamwork, and building each other up are integral to our community’s success, and I thoroughly enjoy being a part of it. In 2018, we look forward to all the events the Chamber has to offer, including the Christmas Walk and Christmas Dinner, the Golf Outing, and numerous Chamber networking opportunities. These events not only create growth and publicity, but also help to solidify our sense of community and fellowship. As we look forward, we will see the Justus Companies opening Woodland Terrace, a state of art senior living community.

This is a great amenity for New Palestine. In addition, the Needlers recently took over from Marsh grocery. Rickers will open this summer, and the new fire station will relocate at US40 and Gem Road. As always, our schools will continue to be outstanding in all areas, academic and athletic. The Chamber Member directory is also expanding, with its many benefits. I oftentimes look to the directory for recommendations when seeking a service or product. Shopping local is a great way to strengthen our community! Thank you for allowing me to represent the New Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce, as the opportunity has provided priceless experiences and friendships.

Coordinatorâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Corner Welcome to the New Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce! Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve just completed my first year as the Office Coordinator for the Chamber, meeting wonderful people and enjoying the events in the community. The New Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce is organized to promote, encourage and advocate growth and innovation in businesses to support the local community. Chamber meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, generally at an 11:30 AM luncheon at the Lions Club. As a Chamber, we have great events planned for the upcoming year. During 2018 the Chamber will be promoting our annual Golf Outing in August, the Christmas Walk (December 7th), and our Christmas Dinner (December 11th). We recently enjoyed a member mixer, and look forward to hosting other member events in the future. We are also a sponsor for the 2018 New Pal Summer Fest (June 23rd). We hope to participate in ribbon cuttings for new businesses in the area. Please become acquainted with the activities of the Chamber on our website www.newpalestinechamber.com and on our Facebook page. I have been amazed to witness the volunteerism that exists in this community. There are so many people and organizations that work to promote the New Palestine area. Chamber membership adds value to your business. We always welcome new members, and information about membership can be found in this directory, as well as on our website. Also, I work in the New Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce office located in the Town Hall. I welcome visitors!

Chamber Meetings The New Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the New Palestine Lions Club, 5242 W. US 52. Our June meeting is held at the Sugar Creek Township Park located at 4161 South 700 West, New Palestine. Members get one meal at each meeting as a benefit of their membership. Guests are welcome and encouraged to attend for a minimal cost of just $10 per person. Please contact the Chamber office at 317-861-2345 to RSVP for any of our meetings. Citizen of the Year: Debby Hildebrandt

The New Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce honored 2017 Citizen of Year, Debby Hildebrandt at the March 13th chamber meeting. Debby accepted the award in front of several of her friends, family members and peers. Debby was nominated for dedicated service to New Palestine and the surrounding communities. Sheâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s been a member and board official for the New Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce for decades and worked with her husband, Wes, as owners of the New Palestine Vet Clinic. Sheâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s also been a part of the Hancock County Economic Development Council. We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to 2017 Citizen of the Year, Debby Hildebrandt!

Leadership Hancock County The mission of Leadership Hancock County is to develop capable and motivated leaders to assume an active role in the growth, management and success of our communities. Ambassadors The New Palestine Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors were formed in 2014 with the intent to serve the chamber members in a variety of ways. They hope to continue this goal in 2018. Annual Christmas Walk This yearâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Christmas Walk will be on Friday, December 7, 2018. Local businesses and organizations open their doors and invite the community in to their establishments for an open house setting. Treats are served at nearly 50 locations.
