THE BEST FILM FESTIVAL ON THE SOUTH COAST RETURNS
We invite you to experience the highlight of the film calendar at Chichester Cinema at New Park when we present the 29th Chichester International Film Festival. Artistic Director Roger Gibson is planning some superb treats, including two very special films to open and close the Festival. Be quick to get your tickets when they are released in late July, and look out for the Festival Launch on July 30 - announced on the weekly email newsletter. We have added a new venue this year - the historic Guildhall in Priory Park - where we present two special events that include live music. All this in addition to our usual selection of UK and world premieres, selected retrospectives, independent films by upcoming filmmakers, treasures from the archive, quality documentaries, illustrated film talks, and Q&A sessions with visiting filmmakers. We thank our festival partners Greenwood and the BFI for their support.
We are delighted to announce the Open Air Screenings to launch the 2021 Film Festival.

SOUTH PACIFIC
Fri 6 Aug 20:45 (Gates Open 19:30) When a young American nurse from Little Rock meets a handsome and mysterious French estate owner on a South Pacific island during World War II, they find refuge from the battles around them as romance blooms. Rogers and Hammerstein wrote many great musicals, but the score of ‘South Pacific’ is one of the strongest, producing many ‘old standards’. Presented in a newly restored digital version on our huge outdoor screen. See pg17 for a Film & Talk Special Offer. USA 1958 Joshua Logan 157m - Tickets in Advance £10 (U15’s - £7)
IN THE HEIGHTS
Sat 7 Aug 20:45 (Gates Open 19:30) The creator of ‘Hamilton’ invites you to the event of the summer, where the streets are made of music and little dreams become big. The scent of a cafecito caliente hangs in the air just outside of the 181st Street subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies this vibrant and tight-knit community. A cult hit in the making much along the lines of ‘The Greatest Showman’. USA 2021 John M. Chu 143m - Tickets in Advance £10 (U15’s - £7)
SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY
Sun 8 Aug 20:45 (Gates Open 19:30) When NBA star LeBron James and his young son are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.’s digitized champions: a powered-up roster of professional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before. The family film sequel the world has been waiting for. USA 2021 Malcolm D. Lee - Tickets in Advance £10 (U15’s - £7)
