Final Fantasy 14 Classes and Cities Final Fantasy 14 (also known as FFXIV or FF14) is the latest release from Square Enix. What makes FFXIV different is that unlike other games, you can change your class (discipline) to melee, magic, gathering or crafting – i.e., you’re not

restricted to one particular class .

As long as you're not in combat and have a couple 100 Gil (1 quest worth), you can buy the weapon to change classes.

If you're not sure which classes to start with, then pick the Disciplines of War. This will get you the Gil to change classes down the line and gain experience for your quests.

At game release, there are 3 starting cities – Gridania, Limsa

Lominsa and Ul’dah. Consider the guilds of each city for the best strategy to level up.
