2nd generation aluminum boats belong to the 80’s & early 90’s. The jet boat design back then was a shift from flat-

bottoms to a V-shaped delta and all-welded aluminum fabrication. Prominent jet pump manufacturers of the time included American Turbine, Kodiak Marine & Dominator. The 3rd generation saw the entry of Ford & Chevy engines that were engineered by Kodiak Marine for better efficiency. This phase began in the mid-90s where hull design shifted to a modified-delta shape – a combination of flat-bottom & delta V. The current generation (4th generation) of jet boat design uses digital 3D software, CNC manufacturing and better hull design/fabrication to build aluminum boats.
