CREATIVE CORNER

The Earth is the Lord’s

by Alan Fisher

The Kingdom of God and the kingdom of Man They were meant to go together hand in hand There’s such a thin veil separating the two We just have to receive it and let it come through

To deny life is to deny your own existence You can’t defeat it, no matter your persistence Those who live by the sword will die in that manner No matter the cause proclaimed on their banner

Just be still and thankful and totally present Let your peace and love make others feel pleasant It may not seem much, but it has great power Remember, the earth is run by just sun, wind and shower

YOUR ATTORNEY AS COUNSELOR

by William R. Mumbauer - Attorney - www.flwillstrustsprobate.com

In representing you, your attorney must exercise independent professional judgment and render candid advice. In giving advice, your attorney may refer not only to the law, but to other considerations such as moral, economic, social and political factors that may be relevant to your situation. In this sense your attorney takes on the role of counselor, in addition to being a legal technician and advisor. As a client, you are entitled to straight forward advice expressing your attorney’s honest assessment. Legal advice often involves unpleasant facts and ramifications which you may be reluctant to confront. In giving advice, your attorney should endeavor to sustain your morale and, therefore, may put advice in as palatable a form as honesty permits. However, your attorney must not refrain from giving candid advice by the prospect that the advice will be unpleasant to you. Matters that go beyond strictly legal questions are often also in the domain of other professions. Where consultation with a professional in another field, such as psychology or accounting, is called for, your attorney should not hesitate to make such a referral. However, at the same time, your attorney’s advice at its’ best often consists of recommending a course of action in conflict with the advice of experts from other professions.
