Exercise Your Brain with TOPTEN™ – The Table Game! If you’ve been searching for a fun, original game to play with friends, family and grandkids, look no further. TOPTEN™ – The Table Game is a tabletop game that involves memory, quick wit and lots of laughs. Developed by Gaila Perran, President of Top-Ten Games LLC, this 18” x 18” tabletop game was created out of the necessity for kids to have an innovative, lightly competitive game to play during recess time. Born from inspiration thanks to the “Roly-Poly” sidewalk chalk game of her childhood, Gaila developed a way to make it both an outdoor and indoor game for players of all ages. In June of 2021, at the Punta Gorda, Florida, South County Regional Park Recreation Center, Gaila once again observed children who would enjoy the Roly-Poly game while attending the summer indoor and outdoor programs. The Activities Director emphasized that the children would like a new indoor activity more than a sidewalk chalk game. Thus, the first indoor version of TOPTEN™ was created by painting it onto a simple 6’x9′ mat, and kids LOVED the game. After discussion with many other grandparents in the community, they pooled financial resources by establishing Top-Ten Games, LLC company, to meet the costs of designing, trademarking, copyrighting, manufacturing and marketing this game. The rules are relatively simple: be the first player to name 10 items in each of the 10 Space Numbers on the mat. Roll the dice and move your pawn on the board until it lands on a Space Number. Items named are determined by what is drawn from a deck of Category Cards. Category Cards might ask questions such as “Can you name 10 foods that are yellow?” or “Can you name 10 scary places?” The player who drew the Category Card has exactly one minute to fill all 10 spaces with items. Once 10 items are named in time, the player can make the Space Number completed. Each game set is handmade here in Florida and retails for $39.99. The game is available for purchase online at toptengamesllc.com/ product/topten/, or can be found at Laff Out Loud Gift Store in Punta Gorda, Sunbirds Hobbies in Englewood, Classroom Plus in Naples or at the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce.

5 Quick Spring Gardening Tips for April 1. With temperatures rising, you’ll want to phase out cooler weather plants for more heat-friendly varieties. Aim for warm-weather annuals like marigolds, coleus and petunias. 2. Watch for pests. As temperatures rise, garden pests will make their way into your garden. Opt for preventative care measures like pest sprays or plant strong herbs like thyme or chives. 3. Move indoor plants outside. Many houseplants love to enjoy fresh air and rain, so be sure to rotate your plants between inside and outside when possible. 4. Know what kind of soil your plants need. Most of Florida’s soil is naturally sandy and unable to hold nutrients. Be sure to plant your crops in a nutrient-rich garden or potting soil. 5. If you’re still thinking about starting a garden, be sure about your placement. Most edible plants need at least six hours of sunlight, so plan accordingly.
