Sue DeLeon appointed as Chief Nursing Officer at HCA Florida West Marion Hospital

According to Ocala News, HCA Florida West Marion Hospital has announced the appointment of Suha “Sue” DeLeon as Chief Nursing Officer, effective June 6. In this role, DeLeon will work to advance the hospital system’s commitment to delivering high quality care through a focus on patient safety, developing cross-functional collaboration among nursing teams across hospital departments, and implementing evidence-based, innovative practices that further clinical operational excellence, according to a press release from the hospital. Chad Christianson, Chief Executive Officer of HCA Florida Ocala Hospital, said, “We are excited to have Sue returning to the HCA Florida West Marion Hospital family. Sue’s proven commitment to people and nursing excellence is key to her success. She understands the culture of care at West Marion, and we are looking forward to the collaboration with our two hospitals and larger healthcare system.” DeLeon most recently served as the Chief Nursing Officer at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital, an HCA Healthcare facility in Inverness that is recognized for its Heart and Vascular Center, Orthopedic & Spine Center of Excellence, Women and Baby Center, robotic surgery and bariatric surgery. DeLeon previously served as the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville for two years. Prior to her work at Memorial Hospital, she served in multiple roles at HCA Florida West Marion Hospital over the course of 11 years as the Director of Medical Surgical, Orthopedic and House Supervision as well as Medical Surgical/Orthopedic Clinical Coordinator. “I’m overjoyed to be coming home to Ocala and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital. The relationships I built here play a large part in who I am and how I lead nursing teams. I look forward to working alongside my friends and colleagues, expanding access to care for our neighbors,” said DeLeon. Last week, HCA Florida West Marion Hospital also announced the appointment of Peter Hemstead as Chief Executive Officer.
