Ford's Garage Now Open in Sarasota

Information and image from The Herald Tribune
After several years in the works, the first Sarasota area location of a longtime Ford’s Garage recently opened its doors, according to the Herald Tribune.
Ford’s Garage, the car-themed restaurant and bar offering “prime burgers, craft beer,” opened at University Town Center in early June. The original Ford’s Garage opened in 2012 in Fort Myers near Henry Ford’s winter home before expanding throughout Florida, along with locations in Michigan and Indiana.
The UTC Ford’s Garage, the 16th location overall, is across from Dick’s Sporting Goods and near the site for Mote Marine Laboratory’s in-theworks new aquarium. The restaurant opening was announced as far back as 2018.
Ford’s Garage serves a variety of burgers including the Ford’s Signature (aged sharp cheddar, Applewood smoked bacon, bourbon barbecue sauce) and The Model A (cheddar, bacon, pico de gallo, arugula, fried egg.) Other menu items include salads, appetizers and several macaroni and cheese options from the mac and cheese bar. There are 40 beers on draft, featuring craft brews from Sarasota-Manatee and elsewhere throughout Florida, with several additional bottled/canned options. Ford’s Garage also serves liquor, including a selection of cocktails. A licensee of Ford Motor Company, the restaurant incorporates vintage Fords into its décor, with its Sarasota area location featuring cars both inside and outside. The UTC location has both a main indoor bar and another indoor-outdoor bar, with patio seating as well. It joins several other dining and drinking spots that have opened this year at University Town Center such as Bento Asian Kitchen + Sushi, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, a second location for downtown Sarasota’s Selva Grill and a third location for Origin Craft Beer & Pizza Cafe. Other restaurants set to open include PopStroke, Tiger Woods’ golf and casual dining concept, as well as Georgie’s Garden Cafe and Bar George.
