GET READY FOR

THE FUTURE PAGE 2: KINDERGARTEN EXPANDS WITH TWO NEW CLASSROOMS

V3 - QSTE01Z01FE

New Kindergarten classes set to open John Paul College is excited to announce the expansion of its Kindergarten with two new classrooms providing additional full and part-time places for children aged three and four opening in July. “Our brief to the architects was clear,” explained Head of Primary, Mr Andy Gordon. “We wanted open areas for children to negotiate the learning taking place in the space; we wanted to give them opportunities to explore, experiment, hypothesize, take risks, create and imagine as they interact with each other and their environment.” Purpose-built features include the Burrow (an art studio), the Nest (a space for light and reflection that develops sensory motor skills), a nature playscape, and resource-rich classrooms that are warm, light-filled and invite

the outside in. The College is excited about the learning opportunities the new classrooms will create for its youngest learners. “Kindy is a time where children are learning how to learn and are developing socially and emotionally. Our Kindy environment creates opportunities for purposeful play, richly embedded with literacy and numeracy foundations,” he said. The nature playscape includes giant rock formations, a dry creek bed and openended terrain to invite further exploration and discovery. To enquire about a place in the college’s new Kindergarten, please email enrolments@jpc.qld.edu.au

Two unique colleges. One school of thought. Moreton Bay College and Moreton Bay Boys’ College run separate, single-sex, school campuses. However, we share the same philosophy on delivering a quality education by recognising each student’s individual learning needs. We firmly believe that boys and girls learn differently, at a different pace and in different ways. They can do this in parallel, but come together to learn from each other through pastoral, cultural, sport and extra-curricular activities. This encourages respectful social interaction between our boys and girls, which helps them prepare for life after school. To learn more contact our Registrar on 07 3249 9322. You’ll see how two colleges work together to give our students the best of both worlds.
