Indonesia is blessed with vast geographical spread and rich biodiversity. The country is home to over 17 thousand islands spread within the archipelago that lie between two great oceans: The Pacific and Indian. ****
This seascape is home of over 2/3 water system in the world, and contributing to over 30% of the air we breathe on this planet. So from this perspective, much still in need to be learnt about our home. Proudly, the world has apparently learnt quicker than us and recognizes Indonesia as the greatest rain forest and ocean diversity in the southern hemisphere.
Ladies & Gentlemen, Having said that, we are truly admiring the vision and commitment of New 7 Wonder in bringing the world together through “a healthy popularity contest”, that is not only fun and enjoyable, but most importantly it brings the people back to the top table of deciding what is good and what is not for them. Indonesia as the 3rd largest democracy in the world, is the perfect example of the people’s power and the people’s choice. • The world has chosen • The world has decided mother earth 28 best nature sites • Now, the world is celebrating and anxiously waiting for the next natural wonders which will be announced next year. With God’s blessing and the wisdom of New 7 Wonders under the leadership of Mr. Weber, we should earn that honor to host the declaration day next year.
Ladies & Gentlemen, We gather here to share our excitement and hope with New & Wonder and pray that Indonesia is chosen to be the host country for such a spectacular gala event, which we all will soon see on the video. **** Of course, eventually we would like also Komodo to win. But not because Komodo belongs to us, but it now belongs to the world. **** Mr. Weber, Mr. De La Fuente, the faculty members and my dear students, it is not our custom to pray to God and ask him to beat our competitors. Because we believe that winning or losing, and the result of everything we do, is the Lord’s blessing. However, we need to pray to God to accompany us, guide us in every effort and attempt to win the bidding. If we do win, we pray to God to remain humble. And if we lose, we pray that God will give us the strength to remain dignified and gracefully have the heart to honor the winner. We have among us here, our friends from the media who we cannot thank enough for spreading our excitement to host the declaration day and help our country return its well-earn position in the global arena. ****
