CAMS | CELESTE GASTELUM

In the past month, CAMS Key Club participated in service projects aiding the environment and school community. Members had the opportunity to plant trees by answering trivia questions and sending letters of appreciation to CAMS staff and teachers. Service wasn’t CAMS’ only focus in February; elections were a top priority as well. Members had the chance to graciously accept or respectfully decline nominations to run for an officer position. Soon after members gathered on Zoom to vote and witness the elections of the next CAMS Key Club Board. We are beyond proud of all candidates and cannot wait to see what extraordinary things they accomplish come the new term!

DA VINCI | ALYSSA HUBLER

Ahoy penguins!! In the month of February, we were preparing for club elections for the 2021-2022 term. During meetings we reminded members that elections were coming up and encouraged them to try to run for a position. We also held a Club Officer Training Conference with Lawndale Key Club! This meeting was required for members who had any interest in running for a position. We discussed each role and answered any questions members were still wondering about. We just had our election on March 5th. Congrats to our new elected candidates. :)

GARDENA| CHRISTIAN VIRATA

During the month of February, Gardena Keyclub hosted a general meeting on February 12th where we discussed how our school’s Upward Bound College Program reached out to our club to help out with their presentation and member recruitment. Members who participated reached out to underclassmen in hopes of them joining a college program that will help them choose or have an idea on their career paths. Towards the end of the month, our club then worked together with our Kiwanis advisor, Ms. Barrera to organize an event with her non-profit One-For-All Kids (OFA) to have our club members help tutor elementary students who would appreciate some help.

HMSA| SOPHIA CASTELLANOS & PABLO GARCÍA

LEUZINGER| CHARLES NGUYEN

Hey fellow penguins, during the month of February, We had four meetings and a board meeting to discuss new business. Our club has brainstormed ideas to engage with other D19N school clubs such as mental health awareness videos and “Project Helping Hand” - a grant project to create care packages for the homeless. Sophia Castellanos will be presenting “Project Helping Hand'' during March. Our club has also scheduled a fundraiser at Chipotle for March 14th. The club is also preparing for the upcoming club elections where we encourage newcomers to become a part of the board. We hope everyone is doing well! Stay safe & icy!

LAWNDALE | ANGELA DELGADO

Greetings Pirate Penguins! Lawndale Key Club’s February was quite eventful! Despite having few meetings because there was no school for several Mondays, our club members got the opportunity to participate in several service events. As always, Charity Miles is a great way for our penguins to earn hours, and we continued to encourage members to write letters to our country’s soldiers, medical workers, and firefighters through the websites Write-A-Soldier and Letters for Leaders. With the holiday on the 14th, our Key Club members also got to write Valentine cards to patients of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Closer to the end of the month, Lawndale Key Club also had an interclub Officer Training Conference with Da Vinci Key Club, and any member who was interested in running for a position was invited to attend to learn more about the responsibilities. We had our election on February 22nd and are super excited to see what the future board members will accomplish. Congratulations to the elected candidates!

Hello everybody! For the month of February, Leuzinger Key Club has talked about how our term was coming to an end and had a meeting to see if anyone was interested in running for a position. We also had an event which was writing a letter to St. Jude for valentines day which a couple of members participated in. It was an interesting event and we may also plan to release some merchandise if the members are interested in buying it. All in all, it was a fun month!
