Urbanization is the word of wonders

People are not just moving to Dhaka •

Currently 35% of the population lives in cities, of which 17.59 is estimated in Dhaka

Housing deficit at this moment is over 6.5 Million homes, this number is expected to rise to 8.5 Million in 2020

Gazipur has highest average rate of urbanization with 21.9%

Dhanmondi & Gulshan are not longer #1 •

Throughout 2014 and 2015, Mirpur was the most searched area in demand on Lamudi.com.bd

From 2016, that demand has shifted to Uttura & Bashundara, where Lamudi saw an average increase in demand of 14%

A newcomer in 2017, Banasree came up high in average search terms, together with Purbachal that remains popular under a huge crowd

In 2018 we have seen a spectacular demand in property in Gazipur, that confirms the shift in urbanization that we see. As well, Mohammadpur is where the largest number of people are looking at this moment 8

From 2014 to 2018 there has been a seismic shift towards catering to the upcoming classes. Areas like Mirpur, Uttura, Bashundhara and Mohammadpur are booming, and developers are jumping in to get their projects ready

More & more developers use data to determine their next location and size, in order to cater to the wishes of their potential clients

The wishes of these clients have changed, from large extended family homes to smaller, parents & children dwellings

As well, more and more people have an interest in condominium cities, and this is to be expected the future of Bangladesh 9
