Rugby league program returns to
FOUNDED by exCanterbury Bulldog and Penrith Panthers player Tim Browne in 2017, the Leading Edge Rugby League program is designed to help individuals improve in all aspects of their game both on and off the field.
“My main passion and drive for creating this football program is to help those young athletes who are unable to make junior rep/ higher divisions within their local clubs,” said Tim.
“This was my story when growing up and I feel very passionate towards helping players who are in a similar situation.
“Having played over 100 NRL games, I know

third term and her first serving within an incumbent government.
Prior to the election a hopeful Washington told News Of The Area that in politics “you can never be sure with these things”.
On Saturday, her hopes were realised with a dominant election result.
The seat had previously been held by Labor with a margin of 5.8 percent, with votes tallied by Monday predicting a 16.5 percent swing in Washington’s favour with preferences calculated.
As news of the result came in, Washington took to social media to thank the electorate for their support.
“Thank you, Port Stephens,” she said.
“I’m humbled by the extraordinary extent of support I’ve received right across Port Stephens.
“From Hawks Nest to Corlette, Tea Gardens to Raymond Terrace, we’ve seen results I never thought possible.
“Together, we’ve helped deliver a Minns Labor government in NSW
“Special thanks to my NSW Labor family, my work family and my ‘actual’ family - for always having my back.
“It’s the team that makes all this possible.
“Now, time to get to work!” she said.
For the past eight years Kate Washington has been working for the community from the other side of the bench.
As promised during the Labor campaign, work on the long promised high school for Medowie is set to commence within the first term of the Minns Government.
So too are commitments for roads and the Port Stephens Koala Hospital.
Roz Armstrong, the Vice President of the Tomaree Branch of the Australian Labor Party (ALP), told News Of The Area, “I could not be happier.
“I became a member of the ALP in 1983 and this win for the party and our hard working member of eight years, Kate Washington, stands alongside those of the governments led by Julia Gillard, Bob Hawke and of course Anthony Albanese last year.
“It’s just a pity that Dominic Perrottet's comment of a respectful campaign was not indicative of the reality here in Port Stephens where Kate Washington was personally attacked on several occasions,” she said.

what it takes to play this game at the highest level.
“The knowledge and experience I have gained over the course of my career I want to transfer into the next generation of rugby league players.”
This year Tim has returned to the region to work with Bulahdelah Central School Primary and Secondary students.
Tim is assisting the Primary students with skill development that can be transferred across multiple sports.
The students are
acquiring motor skills essential for movement and play and are learning the importance of being physically active.
The Secondary students are also acquiring movement skills that are vital for body and spatial awareness and can be adapted and transferred across multiple sports.
The high school group is separated into groupsmale and female.
“The male class is continuing with Rugby League skill development such as kicking, passing and game play,” said BCS teacher Ashlee Styles.
“They are also focusing on the importance of communication and team work along with tactics to use in game play.
“The boys will hopefully be able to put their skills on display with some Rugby League matches against other schools and are working towards bringing the Chris Hoare Cup home.
“The female group is also focusing on skill development and game play, with a greater focus on the game of League Tag.
“The girls are learning to string plays together and work as a team.
“They have been acquiring goal kicking skills and improving their ball handling ability.
“The girls also hope to be able to play some games against other schools throughout the year.”
Forcing the Sale of a Partnership Property
by Cavelle Lindsay
Often when two friends or business partners purchase property for investment or possibly for business premises, they hold that property as tenants in common (in equal shares or otherwise) as opposed to joint tenants.
Where a property is owned by two or more people as tenants in common, one of the owners can deal with his or her share by transferring it to another party whilst living or leave it to another party in his or her Will. Problems can arise where one of the owners would like to sell the property and the other owner(s) does not want to do so. Section 66G of the Conveyancing Act can provide assistance as it enables a co-owner to apply to the Supreme Court for the appointment of a trustee to hold the property for the purpose of its sale. Whilst the Court’s power is discretionary, as a general rule the order will be made appointing the trustee unless it will be inequitable to do so. This then opens the way for the property to be
sold by the trustee and after payment of all costs of the sale and the proceedings, the trustee accounts to the owners for the proceeds of sale.
The effect of Section 66G is if there is a dispute between co-owners and if one of the owners refuses to agree to the sale, then the other coowner can take necessary steps to force the sale. It is important to note that this remedy is available in respect of properties held as tenants in common. It is not available to a person who owns a property as joint tenants with another person.
If you are in dispute with the co-owner of a property and would like it sold, then Mullane & Lindsay can assist with an application under Section 66G.

Health specialists share insights in Bulahdelah
By John SAHYOUN
‘ONE PLUS ONE’, a series of related and informal interviews featuring locals with various backgrounds and stories, have been entertaining and informing Bulahdelah locals in recent months.
The talks arose from the idea that locals had interesting stories to tell.
Previous talks have dealt with a wide range of topics such as working on tall ships, looking after a lighthouse and farming.
The informal talks have been well attended by locals from Bulahdelah and surrounding areas.
These discussions have been followed by a Q and A and informal get together where people can talk to the presenters and discuss how the issues raised relate to them.
The most recent One Plus One event brought two local people from the medical profession to talk about their experiences.
An Otolaryngologist (Ear, throat head and neck) and Professor, Kelvin Kong gave an interesting and informative talk about his insights into his field.
He talked about his experiences from early childhood that led him and other members of his family into the medical field.
Being a proud Koori man he talked about how his grandmother inspired him to reach further and the issues surrounding health in remote regions.

Liberals lose ground on Labor as Washington starts third term
THE people of Port Stephens have voted on their next State Government, and the results are in.
Statewide, the Labor party enjoyed a comfortable victory, with the Coalition losing a number of key seats in regional areas and Western Sydney.
Announced as the new leader of New South Wales, Premier Chris Minns said there was “not a moment to lose” in achieving results for the state.
“My team and I are ready,” Mr Minns said.
“Ready to deliver for the people of our state, no matter who they voted for.
“And ready to take immediate action, to tackle the challenges our state is facing.
“We will work for you, every single day.
“And that starts right now.”
Locally, the incumbent Kate Washington will begin her third term as Member for Port Stephens.
Washington enjoyed (results as of Monday) approximately 55 percent of the first preference vote, with a swing of around seven percent in her favour.
The Liberal party, who announced Beresfield’s Nathan Errington as a last-minute candidate days before the deadline, with extremely limited time to campaign, suffered an approximate nineteen percent negative swing in first preference votes (as of Monday), with Errington receiving around twenty percent of votes.
One Nation’s Mark Watson received
Tanya Thompson elected as Member for Myall Lakes
AS A wave of red covers much of the state in the aftermath of Labor’s state election victory, the Myall Lakes have reinforced their endorsement of the National Party, with first time candidate Tanya Thompson enjoying a comfortable victory.
Thompson, who takes over the seat from the long serving and recently passed Stephen Bromhead, took 45 percent of the first preference votes (results as of Monday).
The seat had been held by the Nationals with a margin of 9.3 percent, which has been consolidated with a predicted 5.8 percent swing in their favour at Saturday’s election.
Ms Thompson, who worked as an electorate officer for Mr Bromhead during the later years of his time in office, is looking forward to beginning her new challenge as Member for Myall Lakes.
“This has been a phenomenal journey and it’s an incredible honour to be chosen to serve and represent the great people of the Myall Lakes Electorate - our home.”
She also took the opportunity to thank those who had supported her campaign.
“To every volunteer that stood in the heat and the rain and everything in between to hand out over the past week, thank you.
“To all the supporters and members of the community that I’ve had the absolute pleasure of meeting and chatting with over the past six months, thank you for your
encouragement and conversations.
“To my amazing family, my husband Ben Thompson who has been my top fan from the moment I came home to tell him I was running for pre-selection, I’m so grateful.”
As of Monday, Labor’s Mark Vanstone had won around eighteen percent of the first preference vote, closely followed by Independent candidate Jason Bendall with 17.8 percent. Mr Bendall, who ran a campaign centred around improving healthcare in the Myall Lakes, congratulated Ms Thompson on her win.
“I want to sincerely congratulate Tanya Thompson and her campaign team for being successful in this election in what has been a difficult and challenging time,” he said.
Keys Manley, who ran for Legalise Cannabis NSW, won around 10.5 percent of the primary vote, while the Greens’ Eleanor Spence won approximately 5.8 percent and Maree McDonald-Pritchard of the Sustainable Australia Party won 2.5 percent.
approximately thirteen percent of the first preference vote, while the Greens’ Jordan Jensen received around five percent.
The three other candidates for Port Stephens received less than three percent each, with informal votes sitting at about 3.3 percent as of Monday.

New varroa mite detections in Clarence Town, Booral
ON 21 March, the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) confirmed that surveillance and tracing activities had detected six new Varroa mite infestations in beehives at four locations across the Central Coast, Hunter and Mid North Coast
regions. The new sites are at Mooney Mooney, Clarence Town, Mitchell’s Flat and Booral.
The new detections bring the total infested premises to 137.
DPI Varroa Mite Response
State Coordinator, Dr Chris Anderson, said the detections were a testament to the extensive tracing and surveillance work being undertaken, by beekeepers and DPI, to manage the outbreak.
“These new sites have
low mite loads, which suggests they are very recent infestations,” he said.
“The recent detection on the Central Coast, however, has meant DPI is now concentrating its Varroa response surveillance activities into the northern
A plan for cemetery management
A PLAN for the development of documents to guide the strategic direction and future management of the 34 cemeteries
under MidCoast Council’s management was approved at its 22 March meeting.
The Cemetery Strategy and related policy and
guidelines will renew Council’s approach to maintaining these cemeteries and improving related services over the
short, medium and longterm.
To help develop the strategy, Council has commissioned specialist
suburbs of Sydney, to ensure the infestation is localised and that there is no mite population in the area.
“DPI has also had to extend the eradication (red) zone west of Stanhope, and west of Bulahdelah, following the new detections on the Mid North Coast.
“We know that this is a difficult time for impacted beekeepers, but controlling and eradicating this destructive mite is critically important to NSW and
consultants to assist.
The aim of the project is to ensure local cemeteries can cater for future demands in response to a growing and ageing population.
The project will also

Funding confirmed for repair works after March 2021 flood
MIDCOAST Council has received confirmation of $7,916,249 worth of funding from the State Government, under
the Community Local Infrastructure Recovery Program, to repair community assets damaged during the March 2021
flood. This will fund repairs and replacement of aquatic infrastructure including:
• repairs and

Water the focus with drier conditions forecast
WITH a return to hotter, drier weather on the radar, MidCoast Council took the opportunity to remind people how precious water is on World Water Day (March 22).
Council’s Director of Infrastructure and Engineering Services, Rob Scott, said after enduring more than two years of above average rainfall on the MidCoast, it was easy to forget there wasn’t an endless supply of freshwater in the world.
“Most people know that a large proportion of the earth is covered by water, but fewer
people are aware how little of this water is fresh,” said Mr Scott.
“Freshwater makes up just three per cent of all the water on earth, and of that, less than one per cent is actually available for drinking, with the rest stored in glaciers or deep underground.
“It’s quite a startling figure, and when you consider that the global population is growing and climate change is making our rainfall patterns less predictable, it really reinforces the message that
we need to be as efficient as we can with the water we have.
“Water efficiency starts in the home and it can be as simple as forming some positive daily habits like turning off the tap while brushing your teeth, taking shorter showers, only using the full flush on your toilet when necessary and only turning on the washing machine when you have a full load.”
The Bureau of Meteorology’s long-range forecast predicts that Australia’s east coast is likely
to experience below average rainfall from April to June, with the possibility of an El Nino developing.
El Ninos are historically associated with reduced rain and increased temperatures, particularly throughout winter and spring.
Mr Scott said the MidCoast’s water supplies were already vulnerable to the impacts of drought, but with the development of Council’s latest long-term water strategy, Our Water Our Future 2050, there was the opportunity to change things for the better.
He encouraged all residents to provide input into the future of the region’s water at https://haveyoursay. midcoast.nsw.gov.au/ourwater-our-future
“We’re asking the community some really important questions about water right now, like do we build a dam or a desalination plant to increase the amount of water we can supply? How much are people willing to pay to have greater water security? And would they consider drinking purified recycled water in the future?”
• Repairs and reconstruction of the riverside reserve and tennis courts at Wingham. Council has recently awarded contracts for the delivery of the projects.
Held every year on 22 March, World Water Day aims to highlight the importance of freshwater and raise awareness of the two billion people across the globe currently living without access to safe water.

SCIENCE fiction
fans congregated at the successful launch of the latest in local author Greg Mutton’s ‘12th Realm’ series, ‘Incident at Zyralin 4’, which took place in the Dolphin Room at the Tea Gardens Hotel on Sunday, 26 March.
“I have a dedicated room at home for my 3000-plus books,” said Kylie Todd, local businesswoman from the Hunter Valley Providores, and superfan of the 12th
Realm series, who led the conversation at the launch.
Knee-deep in her own studies, Ms Todd declared, “While uni textbooks are like the Brussels sprouts of the literary world, Greg’s stories are like chocolate mousse!” Mr Mutton had some answers for how his stories have so aptly appealed to his readers, many of whom were in attendance.
“I write about real characters, putting them into extraordinary circumstances and seeing how they respond,” Mr Mutton elaborated on how the characters can occupy his dreams and build their own stories.
“Much of what I write down in the middle of the night is garbage,” Mr Mutton humbly proclaimed, “however, there are always some gems hidden in it, which can become a whole book.”
While he does not have
a background in quantum physics, nor was he really keen on writing in his school days, his long and varied personal and professional experiences as an engineer have allowed him the broader perspective to be the
writer that he has become today.
“Much of the science that forms the basis for things that happen in my book, and in other science fiction, is actually mainstream now,” Mr Mutton explained.
Hunter Water recognised in sustainability awards
By Marian SAMPSON
HUNTER Water has
been named a finalist in the ’Marketing and Communications for
Impact Award’ category at the Banksia Foundation’s National Banksia
Sustainability Awards for its ‘Respect the Throne’ campaign.
The toilet paper shortages experienced during COVID-19 saw many turn to flushable wipes and even paper towels, none of which our sewerage system is designed for.
This behaviour resulted in ‘fatbergs’; conglomerates of sewerage, wet wipes, fats, oils and other unmentionables which can clog our sewerage pipes.
Hunter Water’s Respect the Throne campaign served as a crucial tool for keeping wipes out of pipes and creating behavioural change during the global pandemic.

The National Banksia Sustainability Awards, now in its 34th year, aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are also at the foundation of Hunter Water’s organisational objectives.
In particular SDG 6 which focuses on ‘Ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all’.
“Like all other utilities, non-flushables are an ongoing issue for Hunter Water.
“The cost to us is about $5 million per year in terms of maintaining our wastewater system.
“We have always had a high number of jobs for short-notice repairs and fixes due to non-flushables,” said Ms Fry.
“But we received an early warning notification just after COVID-19 started.
which is currently available through the website www. gregmutton.com and at the Hawks Nest Newsagency, Incident at Zyralin 4, Mr Mutton says, “touches on things that were alluded to in the first book, Reunion.”
“We saw a dramatic increase in wet wipes coming into our sewer networks right around the time when we had toilet paper shortages across the nation.
“People were flushing toilet paper alternatives.
“And with the warning, we knew we had to act fast, or we were going to have some very serious problems right across our network.
“Given the need for immediate behavioural change, Respect the Throne was designed and launched within six weeks.”
With humour at its heart, the campaign’s messaging was designed to empower the Lower Hunter community to take responsibility for sewer health, but also to provide some light-hearted relief during an incredibly difficult time.
“The word respect is really strong; it helps put ownership back on the individual.
“We’ve always been very focused on empowering our community when it comes to our messaging.
“It is all about empowering the individual to make changes,” Ms Fry said.

Progress Association Update
By Bruce Murray, President, Hawks Nest Tea Gardens Progress Association
UP front, a big congratulations to our hard working and committed state member, Kate Washington MP, for a big win across Port Stephens.
Kate is a well known supporter of the Hawks Nest - Tea Gardens community, and has been very supportive of the Progress Association over the years.
We welcome her continued support of several improvements in our area, in particular the Myall Way (our roads, roads, roads!) and grants (funds to get things done!).
The Committee notes that MidCoast Council is also lobbying relevant MPs for the Myall Way to be included in the NSW Regional Transport - Pacific Highway Future Growth Program, which we strongly support for a safer interchange.
Around our twin villages their are updates on several projects which we continue to support and monitor:
• Tea Gardens Pontoon and Jetty
(Apex Park): This much delayed replacement is being progressed by Magryn Engineering who have completed the structural drawings.
Council are finalising the Review of Environment Factors (REF report) and will be lodging the Crown Licence application with works planned to commence after April this year.
• Hawks Nest Community Hall
Extensions: The tender has been reportedly finalised by Council and we are seeking clarification around schedule with delays evident.
• Hawks Nest Beach: Following lobbying by the HNTGPA, additional external showers will be installed over winter.
Works will include erosion prevention improvements, including sandstone block landscaping. Our volunteers will also be renewing the murals and improving the gardens.
• Council is progressing local water and wastewater improvements, of note the $45M Hawks Nest sewer upgrade program which includes a new pump station and rising main connecting Tea Gardens to Hawks Nest (for the new residential developments).
Public consultation commenced last week and will be ongoing.
Mobile coverage, particularly in
Dear Julie,
I suspect I might like you.
You're not one of those fawning parents who thinks the world revolves around little Johnny's ball skills.
Few things are more mindnumbingly boring than watching a sport you don't understand played by kids who don't really understand it either.
Yes, I know all about teambuilding and resilience and all those other useful skills.
But for some reason standing on
Hawks Nest, remains poor.
Council are advocating to be included in an Australian Government funded program to improve service across the LGA.
The Committee will continue to highlight this issue and lobby The Hon. Dr David Gillespie and government to deliver.
The Committee notes that the Hunter Regional Plan has now been in place since December 2022.
Council is currently aligning relevant planning guidance.
However, there are increasing community concerns about “zombie DA” approvals in coastal communities such as ours.
There have been several recent controversial approvals, including 90 Viney Creek Road (a new 226 lot subdivision), and 91-95 Marine Drive.
Progress matters, however, there may be merit in supporting a five-year development consent limit to ensure developments comply with modern planning standards and local community expectations.
We welcome your views.
The Committee is pleased to advise we are finalising the $117,000 Funding Deed with the NSW Government to install the new outdoor gym equipment at Providence
the sidelines in the rain watching your child being knocked over by a kid who is supposedly twelve but has more facial hair than your husband makes you ponder about just how much more resilience your son needs.
Then there are the miserable drives home for the away games when you have to try to explain why the coach's kid got player of the match for the fifth consecutive week, all the while knowing that you could have stayed home and watched Bend it like Beckham instead.
There's sure to be at least one other parent on the team with your mindset, Julie.
You need to seek them out and then organise a roster system so you only have to endure this every second game.
On the days you have to attend, take a good book, buy a coffee and call out something encouraging every 20 minutes.
Preferably not 'good job' or 'just be you'.
Both are highly irritating.
A simple 'run' could be effective, as could 'don't break anything. We don't have health insurance'.
Bay Park by next summer. There has been increased graffiti reported across our twin villages and we continue to support the rapid removal and restoration of vandalised public places - thank you to our volunteers and Council.
This is also the case for illegal dumping which continues across our beaches and parks.
Please help where possible.
We start fundraising again with two BBQs scheduled for Bunnings this year (starting 10 June) to cover our insurance costs which continue to increase and look forward to your continued support.
Finally, our next Public General Meeting will be in the Dolphin Room at the Tea Gardens Pub from 6.30pm on Monday 17 April.
This will be the location for all our meetings until the upgrades to the Hawks Nest Community Hall are completed.
This meeting we plan to open with a 20 minute screen presentation from the national Black Dog Institute on regional mental health issues and available wrap around support services.

22 MARCH
It was great to see the grass green back in play and as expected it was a bit on the slow side but that will improve over the coming weeks.
Forty-three players turned out for their first game of triples in several months.
There were some fresh players who had never played on grass before, but they soon got the hang of it.
The morning game was decided by the “Highest winning score.”
With a score of 15 and a 2-end countback required, Kev Barbie, Barry Goode, and Merv Mills were the winners.
The afternoon game was won by Doug Andrews, Col Fossey, and Vic Garlick.
The “Highest winning margin” was the card drawn and they had a margin of 11.
The Garden Eatery voucher went to Dave
Round 5 of the Newcastle District opengender Pennants was played today with the First National sponsored Dolphins, Grade 5 and Grade 7 playing at home and Grade 6 travelling to Hexham.
Grade 6 made it to Hexham but soon turned around and headed for home as the game was declared a “washout”.
It is interesting to note that last week Mark Hair’s Grade 6 team had a score of 8 in one end.
The bowling equivalent of a “hole in one.”
Each player in that team will be awarded an “8” pin to celebrate the occasion.
It was overcast at Tea Gardens as well and right on cue, the players had just set foot on the green and the rain came down.
With just a few ends played, the synthetic green soon became unplayable, forcing a delay to remove surface water.
When play resumed, Grade 5 who were playing Hamilton North, appeared well in
However, one local team was having difficulties and although the remaining two teams won, they could not make up the deficit.
Hamilton North managed a three-shot victory 74-71.
Despite the loss Grade 5 remain in second place in their section.
Grade 7 were taking on the competition leaders, Soldiers Point who had thus far only conceded one lost game.
Shaking off the disappointment of last week, Grade 7 excelled themselves by pulling off an upset.
They lost heavily in one match but won heavily in another with the scores cancelling each other out.
The Tea Gardens third team managed a gutsy win by just one shot and with it the Master Board.
Tea Gardens 55, Soldiers Point 54.
Grade 7 retain their overall placing on the ladder at third.
Round 6 next week Grade 5 is home to Merewether, Grade 6 are away at Raymond Terrace and Grade 7 are away at Beresfield.
In the First round of the Club Minor Singles Championship played today the results were as follows;
Geoffrey Muggleton defeated Rick Islaub 25-11.
Doug Andrews defeated Vic Garlick 25-17. Graeme Reynolds held out Hylton Newman, 25-19.
In a return to bowls for both players, Stewart Sturrock defeated John Payne, 25-15.
Chris Fredericks, in his first ever club competition, went down to Col Buddle 15-25
Peter Campbell prevailed over Rob Young 25-19 and in a cliffhanger of a game, Neil Kibble defeated Tony Butler 25-24.
Next week Noel Jackson takes on Stewart Sturrock, Graeme Reynolds will oppose Neil Kibble, Col Buddle meets Doug Andrews and Peter Campbell plays Geoffrey Muggleton.
In other news.
The next club championship will be the Mixed Pairs with details on the notice board soon.

SUBMISSIONS for Seniors’ Stories 2023 open soon, giving older people the opportunity to share their life experiences.
Seniors’ Stories is a writing competition aimed at celebrating the lives and contributions of seniors by giving them an opportunity to share their own short stories.

Long time MC Jean Kittson

John Sahyoun, who you may know as a News Of The Area reporter, has been a featured writer in the Short Stories competition four times.

Since the pandemic, daydreaming about uprooting to the country has become a mainstream folly. In this charming and frothy Kiwi drama, Rebecca Gibney and Charles Edwards play a mismatched pair of strangers who somehow inherited a winery in New Zealand together. Of course, it isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. As we near the end of this first season, Daisy and Louis are starting to warm to each other, with Gibney and Edwards exuding a palpable chemistry. Tonight, Daisy is over the moon about Griffin (Dean O’Gorman) visiting, but the mood is soured by Louis’ wallowing.

Another year, another band of familiar (and not-sofamiliar) “celebrities” are deposited into the jungle campsite. If you’ve managed to steer clear of the rumour mill about who will end up in the wilderness, tonight’s premiere will be a pleasant surprise. This year, the cast and crew have returned to the wilds of Africa, so expect tiger puns and elephant jokes galore from seasoned hosts Julia Morris and Dr Chris Brown (right). Last season’s winner, radio star Dylan Lewis, donated his hefty $100,000 to charity Lifeline. Set to feature an outspoken radio host and a sporting legend, viewers can feel good that this palaver is all for a good cause.

Hawks Nest Bridge Club expands session times
DUE to the success of their weekly bridge sessions, the Hawks Nest Bridge Club (HNBC) will open a Tuesday evening session from April.
The local bridge club already hosts three very successful daytime sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays
and Fridays.
To accommodate those who work and those who prefer not to play in the daytime, the club will, in April, be introducing a Tuesday evening session.
“There are some 220 million bridge players
worldwide and there are over 300 bridge clubs in Australia,” said Leslie Falla, Hawks Nest Bridge Club.
“Our local club has just under 100 members; not bad for a small community such as ours.”
Leslie said that while
bridge players have a reputation for being serious, that misconception is quickly dispelled by laughter before, during and after the game.
“Bridge is brain food and that means playing the world’s favourite card game
in a friendly welcoming atmosphere results in very powerful medicine.”
To register your interest in playing bridge, contact Leslie Falla on 0413 487 282 or email lesfalla@ bigpond.net.au .
Don’t play bridge yet? HNBC will be running very affordable lessons starting shortly. Please make contact for more information.
