There are several different types of physical and legal child custody:
Legal Custody: Parents who can make legal decisions on matters impacting the child. Physical Custody: Parents whose children live with them. Sole Custody: One parent has both physical and legal custody of the child. The other parent may have visitation rights. That parent does not have custodial rights and cannot make decisions on matters affecting the child. Joint Legal Custody: Both parents have equal say in decisions on matters that impact the child. If there is a disagreement between these two parents the dispute may be settled by a mediator or in court. Joint Physical Custody: The children split time between living with both parents.
He went onto explain, "In the State of Florida there is equal time-sharing between parents, there's no primary and secondary parent, and there are no terms such as custody and visitation." Matthew Brickman mediates matters on a variety of matters and disputes such as: - Alimony - Child Support - Arrears - Alimony - Spousal Support - Child Custody - Visitation - Timesharing - Paternity - Parenting Plans - Prenuptial Agreements
