RICHARD THO
Dagenham, 1968: Rita’s a busy mum, loving wife and hard working Ford factory employee. But something’s very wrong. Rita and her female colleagues find themselves working long hours sewing car seats for far less money than the men. And they’ve had enough. Finding a voice she never knew she had, Rita leads the women on a trailblazing battle for equal pay, taking on the unions, Ford’s top brass and the Government. As the pressure mounts Rita struggles to keep up the fight and the happy home she’s worked so hard for. Inspired by a true story and based on the hit movie, Made in Dagenham is an uplifting musical comedy about how ordinary people can do extraordinary things.

MON 12 TO SAT 17 SEP ROCK N ROLL PRODUCTIONS PRESENT
WRITTEN BY CAROL HARRISON
In 1964, a new phenomenon exploded onto the dingy British streets. It was the essence of all that was cool. It was Mod. Mods stuck two fingers up at the class-ridden society and its dull redundant culture. They were working-class free spirits who rode sexy streamlined Italian Vespas or Lambrettas. The sharpest Mod of all was known as a ‘FACE’. The Small Faces encapsulated all that is Mod, a unique blend of taste and testosterone, neat, clothes obsessed and streetwise. But these cult sophisticates shared another passion, their dedication to Rhythm ‘n’ Blues. This ‘Mod’ Musical is a transgenerational musical experience celebrating the unique sound of the iconic Mod band, The Small Faces. AONthemusical AllOrNothingAMusicalAboutTheLifeOfTheSmallFaces

MON 17 TO SAT 22 OCT AN ORIGINAL THEATRE COMPANY AND SALISBURY PLAYHOUSE PRODUCTION IN ASSOCIATION WITH EASTBOURNE THEATRES
When charming, smooth-talking Dan arrives unexpectedly at old Mrs Bransom’s remote woodland home he soon ingratiates his way into her life and that of her beautiful niece Olivia. But when a local woman goes missing and rumours in the press of a murder surface among the household, fingers begin to point. Has the past finally caught up with Dan and could he really be capable of murder? As the police close in, and with the press baying for blood, is anyone safe? This psychological thriller from master playwright Emlyn Williams has all the tension, atmosphere and suspicion of the best British mysteries and will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Pride & Prejudice: 19th Century Chick-Lit?
MON 31 OCT TO WED 2 NOV RICHARD DARBOURNE LTD PRESENTS THE TWO BITS CLASSICS PRODUCTION
PRIDE & PREJUDICE A highly praised and sparkling interpretation of one of the most loved stories of all time, this is a must for Austen fans and those looking for a fresh and surprising new piece of theatre. Fun, fast and romantic – this chance to catch the five Bennett sisters and the whole world of Austen brought to life by just two actors is a treat not to be missed.
Jane Austen is one of Britain’s greatest novelists and Pride & Prejudice is her most immediately popular book. What is it about this tale of three or four gentry families living outside a small country town that has captured readers’ affection for over two hundred years? Is it as “light and bright and sparkling” as its author described it or does it need “to be stretched out with a long chapter of sense”? Dr Julia Jones is a biographer and novelist who is also the author of standard revision guides to Pride & Prejudice. In this pre performance talk she will offer her own answers to these and other questions, including any that are raised by the audience. TICKETS /

THU 3 TO SAT 5 NOV SKETTY THEATRE AND DEM PRODUCTIONS PRESENT
RESULT Two teenagers, best mates, at a Premier League Youth Football Academy each striving towards the big time, both hoping to secure their dream. What do they need to sacrifice to get there? They live and breathe football, it's on their hearts, on their minds - nothing else. With pressure coming from all sides - their Coach, their Sports Psychologist - who can they turn to when the ball drops, when that soul dream gets snatched from them? What if they believe there is no one to turn to? From Sketty Theatre, a critically-acclaimed ground breaking company, comes a fresh new take on the beautiful game and everything ugly within it. RESULT offers an evocative examination of mental health, friendship and masculinity in a world where it's seen as weak to admit 'I’m struggling'.

THE WIPERS TIMES BY / IAN HISLOP AND NICK NEWMAN
Ypres, 1916. Under enemy fire, Captain Roberts publishes a satirical magazine, The Wipers Times (after the army slang for Ypres). Defying both authority and gas attacks, it proves a huge success with the troops on the Western Front. Poignant, subversive and full of gallows humour, the play is coloured by sketches and songs adapted from the original magazine. Based on the critically acclaimed, award–winning BBC film, The Wipers Times is above all a tribute to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming adversity. “An extraordinary true story” The Guardian 7.45pm (7pm on Tue 8 Nov) 2.30pm on Wed 9 and Sat 12 Nov BACKSTAGE TOUR / 12.30pm on Sat 12 Nov TIMES /

The Immortal Salient: The British Army at Ypres 1914-1918 "The British Army arrived to defend Ypres in October 1914 and remained there until the end of the War. The Ypres Salient became synonymous with the Commonwealth soldiers' struggle against the Germans, shells, bullets, wire, gas and mud. 200,000 of them never returned home and now, a century later, lay beneath Flanders Fields. Dr John Greenacre explains why the British Army stood and fought around Ypres for nearly four years and the ebb and flow of the battles that took place within the Immortal Salient." TICKETS / £5

DON’T TELL HIM PIKE AN AUDIENCE WITH IAN LAVENDER Dad’s Army was one of the top TV comedy shows of all time, delighting audiences of 18 million plus between 1968 and 1977. Ian Lavender starred in the original Dad’s Army as Private Pike, the teenager whose mum made him wear a scarf “to protect him from the croup”. He shares with the writer and broadcaster Chris Serle a generous helping of his brilliantly funny anecdotes about the making of the series, at rehearsals, in the studio and on location with his fellow volunteer soldiers. The evening includes some of the most memorable clips from the 80 broadcasted episodes. TIME / 7pm

DAUGHTERS OF FORTUNE: MIA Mind the Gap make a welcome return with a new, original piece of work directed by Joyce Lee. Learning-disabled parents? Erm, can they do that? Do they even have sex? Yes, yes ‘they’ do. Contemporary and fast moving, Mia dramatises the experiences of learning-disabled parents. Using stories, underpinned by facts, data and genetic science, Mia asks you to reconsider the often taken for granted idea of ‘being a parent’. AUDIO DESCRIBED PERFORMANCES
Suitable for those who are blind or visually impaired, these performances give you a live commentary about the action happening on stage through a pair of small headphones. Free Touch Tours take place an hour before each of these performances.
BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETED
BSL Interpreted performances feature an on-stage interpreter who interprets spoken English into sign language.

There is an Infra Red Hearing System in the main theatre for customers who need hearing enhancement which replaces the traditional 'loop'. Please come to the Ticket Desk to use this service.
