WELCOME TO

The New York Public Library!

From the President It’s back-to-school season, and NYPL is ready and eager to serve Library users, from kids and teens to members of the 50+ community, who rely us to discover new skills and ideas. This fall, the Library is particularly excited to announce a major expansion of our after-school programs, which were launched last year and have already helped students across the city (p. 16). In addition, we’re pleased to open NYPL’s first-ever Mac computer lab at Mid-Manhattan Library. This inspiring space will offer an array of new classes and services at our most heavily used location (p. 23). For more than 100 years, NYPL has brought free books and resources to all New Yorkers. But today's Library needs to be even more proactive to help users of all ages achieve their dreams. We are proud to expand our essential educational programs to help strengthen individuals and communities across the city.
